Trump Signs National Security Deal With Greenland, Denmark
Trump has said the agreement will give ‘permanent control over security’ in Greenland.

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a deal with the leaders of Greenland and Denmark that will allow a larger U.S. military presence in the key Arctic territory.
Trump participated in a signing ceremony on the morning of Sept. 22 alongside Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen at the U.N. General Assembly in New York City.
“This HISTORIC deal is critical for American national security and defense in the Arctic Region,” the White House wrote in a statement on X.
During his address to the U.N. General Assembly on Sept. 22, Trump announced that the United States will build two major military bases in Greenland.
