Harris Poll: Biden 'Not Able' to Handle 'Difficult' Issues Like Ukraine

President Joe Biden is not able to handle "difficult international issues," such as defending Ukraine from Russian invasion, according to a majority of respondents to a recent Harvard Harris poll.

One survey question asked, "Do you think President Biden is able to handle difficult international issues like defending Ukraine from the Russians and protecting Taiwan from China or is he not able to handle these kinds of problems?"

Overall, 54% of respondents said Biden "is not able" to handle such difficult issues. Forty-six percent said he was.

Since President Biden’s first day in office, he has made it his chief goal to weaken the United States to the point that we are now dependent upon Russia for oil — the very lifeblood on which the world still runs. The punishing gas prices you see at the pump today are not an unfortunate consequence, but the very intentional purpose of Mr. Biden’s policies.

President Joe Biden’s entire time as President of the United States can be summed up with the word “abandonment.”

He abandoned the border, he abandoned Afghanistan, and he even abandons the press after the vast majority of his speeches. Now, we can add “Ukraine” to the list of things he abandoned. As RedState previously covered, Biden dropped sanctions on Russia but it couldn’t be confirmed if they’d actually have an effect. Then, before anything could be understood about the sanctions, Biden left for the weekend to Deleware.

Biden’s handling of Ukraine has been another example of his incompetence. Never mind that this entire invasion was a door he helped open in the first place, now that the invasion is here, we have a leader who’s doing very little leading on the matter.

It’s why the American people agree that Biden’s handling of the Ukraine matter has been poor.

Over the weekend as Russia continued its invasion into Ukraine, billionaire Elon Musk was asked by Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov to help the country as threats of a communication blackout were escalating.

@elonmusk, while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand.

Within hours of the request, Musk delivered and announced the launch of his Starlink communications system over the country.

More than 400 Russian-paid mercenaries have infiltrated Kyiv focused on killing Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, The Times of London reported.

A private militia named the Wagner Group — run by one of Russian President Vladimir Putin's closest allies — flew in mercenaries from Africa five weeks ago on a mission to assassinate Zelenskyy and other government officials.

The mercenaries, who would receive handsome financial bonuses, also were to prepare the ground for the Russians to take control.

Ukraine and its allies had called for a United Nations inquiry Monday into possible war crimes committed by Russia during its military actions in Ukraine.

The United Nations Human Rights Council voted on Monday to accept Ukraine's request to hold an urgent debate Thursday on Russia's invasion. A Ukrainian draft resolution will be considered at the urgent debate.

"Russian forces attempt to sow panic among the population by specifically targeting kindergartens and orphanages, hospitals and mobile medical aid brigades thus committing acts that may amount to war crimes," Ukraine's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Yevheniia Filipenko, told the Human Rights Council.

Just 23% of Democratic primary voters would choose President Joe Biden for a second term, hitting another low point in the monthly survey from McLaughlin & Associates.

Former first lady Michelle Obama, meanwhile, is the only Democrat threatening Biden. Her support among the party's primary voters is 19%, up from 16% in November.

* The only others with more than 5% support are Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg at 8% and Vice President Kamala Harris at 7%.

* The 2016 Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, who has stirred new reports that she is eager to make another attempt to reach the White House, came in at only 4% backing.

The Russian bombing of Kharkiv has resulted in "dozens of dead and hundreds of wounded Ukrainian citizens," the Ukrainian general staff tweeted on Monday.

Located on the northeastern side of Ukraine, Kharkiv is home to 1.5 million people, and has seen heavy fighting since the conflict began, the Washington Examiner reports.

When Russian troops entered the city on Sunday, they were repelled by Ukrainian forces, and Russian troops across the city were surrendering, Ukrainian officials said.

In early morning hours of February 25, as massive Russian ground and air invasion forces closed in on his Kyiv capital, a former stand-up comic and sitcom actor who had portrayed a schoolteacher turned president demonstrated a stirring real-life example of leadership and heroism that the best fiction can only hope to emulate.

Dressed in a khaki T-shirt and fatigues, 44-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted a starkly serious and vitally inspirational cellphone video message to a besieged Ukraine populace: “We aren’t afraid of anything.”

“We aren’t afraid to defend our country,” he said. “We aren’t afraid of Russia.”

President Zelenskyy, who according to Ukrainian and Western officials topped Moscow’s kill-or-capture list, had declined a U.S. offer to help him flee his country.

Zelenskyyy had told the American Embassy: "The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride."

Whether such responses will ultimately prove to be too little, too late for Ukraine remains to be seen, but one thing is certain. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s courageous leadership in rallying his small nation’s patriotic reprisals against a powerful aggressor offers renewed testimony that freedom from tyranny is worth fighting for.
