ANALYSIS/OPINION:
“This bill is the single most dangerous bill this committee has ever considered,” thundered Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz at Wednesday’s hearing of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration.
He was referring to S. 1, the Senate version of Democratic-sponsored legislation that would overturn state law, federalize elections, outlaw voter ID, mandate automatic and same-day voter registration, institute taxpayer financing of federal elections, and virtually ensure Democratic Party control of our politics for the next century.
Mr. Cruz is right — this bill is extraordinarily dangerous, on a number of fronts

Joe Biden did everything he could to put off doing a press conference for a record amount of time since he took office, compared to any predecessors.
When he finally did one last Thursday, it was an utter disaster that has only intensified concerns about his health, only taking questions from ten people and reading answers from prepared notes, seeming to lose his train of thought multiple times, not to mention lying his head off.
So here’s a good question for Joe Biden: When are we going to see the results of a medical exam? That’s something that we periodically expect to see from presidents and the Democrats made a big thing about with President Donald Trump.

It's remarkable to see how quickly the unified opinion against former President Trump and for the alleged necessity of removing him from the White House has cracked apart since that goal was achieved.
Following the inauguration, there were endless purposeful assurances that the former president would be pursued to the ends of the earth for his iniquity.
Even hard-bitten Fox News commentators like Brit Hume felt compelled to toe-the-line and denounce claims that the election had been rigged as discredited bunkum.

The Orwellian named “For the People Act” is basically an attempt to codify and mandate a bunch of voting aspects the left believe benefit them. Why would an insurance company pay a private meteorological company a fee to provide them with information — about the likelihood of a hurricane landfall and severity and timing in a specific location — when the Weather Bureau provides the information for free?
The short answer is some teams of private meteorologists have a track record of being more accurate. This increase in accuracy enables those who buy the information to take actions to save more money than the cost of the information.
The auto insurance business is highly competitive. If one company charges too much, they lose business to their competitors; and if they charge too little, the cost of claims can destroy the company. So, having precise information as to the probability of an individual customer getting into an accident as well as the likely cost of the claim from the accident is vital information for the company to properly price their policies.

After 60 days of the new administration, American government has descended into surrealism. Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, blandly assured the Sunday television news programs that "the border is closed," and that unauthorized and inappropriate entry-seekers are normally turned away.
This is clearly a monstrous falsehood and the docile Democratic-boot-licking media knows it to be false.
This ludicrous and tragic charade on the southern border is half of the current administration’s vast and pointless game of pretense, in which it denies the existence of one immense crisis, while grimly and tediously proclaiming the iron duration of another crisis that has in fact, largely passed.

Bills to facilitate a federal takeover of the election process while all but ensuring Democrat victories at the polls (H.R. 1), to ensure taxpayer-funded abortion in all 50 states (H.R. 5), and to repeal the deadline for the Equal Rights Amendment are some of the recently passed measures.

The repeal of the Senate filibuster would be one of the most consequential losses to our democracy. It would subject the nation to a dizzying see-saw of opposing policies on fundamental matters with every election season. It would threaten not only our system of checks and balances, but eventually the very existence of a two-party system.

It is easy to support the filibuster when one's party is in the minority, and to oppose it when one's party is in the majority, and the filibuster is the only obstacle in the way of advancing one's agenda.
But that is precisely its value. The good of the nation is bigger than the agenda of either party.

Big Tech was on the hot seat again last Thursday.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey testified again before Congress, this time in a House Energy and Commerce Committee virtual hearing. The three men were the essence of cool. Nothing ruffled them. Well, almost.
In fact, their cool, almost robotic articulation was unsettling, though it contrasted well with what unfolded at the other big Washington event on Thursday — President Biden’s first press conference. Mr. Biden looked lost at times, often ending mid-sentence and blaming his predecessor for the border disaster that he unleashed. He also threatened to push for an end to the Senate filibuster. All in the name of unity.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday that Democrats’ voting rights overhaul proposal is a “sick” attempt at federalizing state elections.
The South Carolina Republican told “Fox News Sunday” that he was more concerned with Democratic lawmakers’ proposal to overhaul election laws than newly enacted election laws in Georgia that have rankled liberals.
“H.R. 1 is the biggest power grab in the history of the country,” Mr. Graham said. “It institutionalizes ballot harvesting. It does away with the voter ID requirement. It will take over every election in every state. It makes the Federal Election Commission a partisan commission, it will no longer be bipartisan. So that’s the power grab we’re standing up to.”

Former President Donald Trump says he’s leaning toward a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, claiming Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement are encouraging him to do so.
In an interview on Fox News’ “Justice With Judge Jeanine” Saturday night, Trump said he’d likely go “over the next few weeks.”
“Well, a lot of people want me to,” he said. “The Border Patrol and all of the people of ICE, they want me to go. “

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said Sunday cartel members are “renting” children in distressed countries in Central America and bringing them to the U.S. border, helping to fuel a humanitarian, health and national security crisis.
In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Cruz lamented “we are seeing an instance of more and more young males arriving with kids.”
“When those kids are DNA tested against those males, many of those males are not related to those kids,” he said. “What the cartels are doing is they understand the weakness and the loopholes in the Biden administration's policies and if a young adult male, possibly a criminal, possibly a gang member, if they want to come into the country, all they have to have is a kid.”

Funny how the new effort to alter Senate rules is rooted in dark money — and minds who are kept in the dark.
If it feels as if the recent massive push to have the longtime Senate tool — the filibuster — eliminated as an artificial drive, that is because it is exactly that. It is telling that a rule that has been in existence for centuries, and has been a reliably favorite one used by Democrats, has overnight become regarded as a deeply problematic device and one that is rooted in racial hatred.
