Rubio demanded Iranian delegation leave US after talks stalled: Report

Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered the Iranian delegation attending the U.N. General Assembly to leave the United States immediately after peace talks to end the nearly nine-month war crumbled, according to a new report.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi were in New York last week for the United Nations’s yearly meeting and had reportedly met with U.S. officials to discuss a possible end to the war. However, Axios reported that once negotiations screeched to a halt, Rubio ordered the delegation to depart.
“Secretary Rubio kicked out the Iranian delegation who had overstayed their welcome. The UN General Assembly was over, so it was time for them to go,” the U.S. official told the outlet.

But the facts show that the first two years of Republican control have produced impressive economic gains, especially for minorities, women and workers on the bottom rungs of the economic ladder.
It's not the economy, stupid, that's souring Americans on the GOP.

If Republicans lose control of Congress, it will not be because of a bad economy.
Blame inept, soulless messaging.
Republican candidates and the president need to present the facts and ask voters to rise to the occasion.
The Trump administration needs to sell the public on why the price of gas is high and start talking about the price of freedom. Urge the public to sacrifice for victory against a nation determined to destroy us.

President Donald Trump just barred reporters from CNN, MSNOW and Politico from the White House.
A free press needs access to the president, even when it disagrees with him. Yet Mr. Trump’s frustration is understandable.
A disproportionate amount of time is spent discussing his personality, language and controversies compared with his administration’s actual record.
With the midterms approaching, that record deserves a serious look.
Trump has become one of the most consequential deconstructionist, anti-globalist and anti-bureaucratic presidents of the modern era.
He's challenged the administrative state, decades of free trade orthodoxy, our approach to illegal immigration, and basic assumptions governing America's relationships abroad.
Whether you like Trump personally is irrelevant.
Voters should know about his enormous policy changes.
Deregulation and the administrative state may be the most important and least discussed part of Trump's presidency.
He ordered agencies to eliminate at least 10 regulations for every significant new one.
In 2025, the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs counted 646 deregulatory actions against only five significant regulatory actions.
This brought about $212 billion in present and future regulatory cost savings.
Trump’s executive order called for the "deconstruction of the overbearing and burdensome administrative state."
He has certainly followed through on that philosophy.
For years Washington argued about whether the border could be materially changed without another massive piece of legislation from Congress.
Trump changed asylum, parole, detention and release policies, signed the Laken Riley Act, and designated major cartels as terrorist organizations.
The administration now reports 15 consecutive months without releasing an inadmissible migrant encountered at the border into the United States.
It seems inarguable that presidential policy is material to border security.
FBI numbers tell the story on crime and public safety.
Violent crime fell 9.3% in 2025. Murder fell 18.1% and robbery fell 18.5%.
The decline in violent crime from 2024 was the largest annual drop since FBI national estimates began in 1936. The murder rate reached 4.1 per 100,000, tying 1955 and 1956 for the lowest rate in those estimates.
Trump's tax legislation created deductions for qualified tips and overtime, additional relief for seniors, and a deduction of up to $10,000 for qualifying interest on American-made automobile loans. There are income limits and qualifications, so political slogans are simpler than the tax code itself.
The underlying policy is clear.
Regarding American energy, Trump made domestic energy production central to his economic policy. He declared a National Energy Emergency and reversed numerous Biden-era energy restrictions.
America produced an average 13.6 million barrels of crude oil per day in 2025, the highest annual level ever recorded. America remained the world's largest crude oil producer while LNG exports also reached record levels.
On American manufacturing, Trump has probably done more than any modern Republican president to destroy the old Republican consensus around unrestricted free trade.
His tariffs on steel, aluminum, automobiles and other imports have costs. Serious economists disagree about them.
His argument is America spent decades calculating the benefit of cheaper imports without adequately calculating the cost of losing factories, strategic industries and domestic supply chains.
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer asked, "How can we have a conservative economy, conservative culture, or conservative politics if we don’t have a sovereign country that controls its own destiny?"
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrencies are components of the next economy.
The administration established an AI action plan, created a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, and signed federal Stablecoin legislation.
Trump is aggressively encouraging investment in data centers, computing and the energy infrastructure required to support them.
The larger strategy is to keep capital, technology, infrastructure and rule-making power surrounding the next economy inside America.
Trump is determined to make America healthy again.
On MAHA, Trump revived most-favored-nation drug pricing and launched TrumpRx to attack the enormous difference between what Americans and patients in other developed countries pay for identical medicines.
The administration says 26 pharmaceutical manufacturers, representing 89% of the branded drug market, have now entered most-favored-nation agreements.
The ultimate savings should be judged as results come in rather than accepting anyone’s projections.
Putting America first abroad, Trump pressured NATO allies to spend substantially more on defense, pursued the return of detained Americans, confronted Iran militarily, and increasingly used America's enormous economic market as foreign policy leverage.
The approach is transactional by design.
What is America spending and receiving, and are our allies carrying their share?
Put these policies together and the larger project becomes clearer.
Trump is attempting to reduce the reach of the permanent administrative state and reorganize federal policy around what he defines as American national interests.
Now return full circle to the press kerfuffle.
Let them in to ask difficult questions and criticize him and his personality.
Let the administration hit back hard by refocusing attention from overinflated controversies to the vastly underreported successful Trump policy record.

Blackburn Sues Jack Smith Over Subpoena of Cell Records

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee against Jack Smith, the former special counsel who investigated President Donald Trump, alleging he violated her constitutional rights by subpoenaing her cell phone toll records without proper legal authority and concealing the action from her.
The Republican senator claims Smith's appointment as special counsel was unconstitutional because he was neither nominated by the president nor confirmed by the Senate.
She contends that as an improperly appointed private citizen, Smith lacked authority to exercise the powers of the office.
Blackburn alleges Smith and his team subpoenaed her toll records for the period of Jan. 4-7, 2021, during an investigation codenamed "Arctic Frost" into events surrounding Jan. 6. She claims the records were legislative materials protected from compelled disclosure by the Speech or Debate Clause of the Constitution.
The complaint states Smith obtained a non-disclosure order that prevented Verizon from alerting Blackburn to the subpoena. Smith allegedly did not disclose to the judge who issued the order that he was seeking records of a sitting U.S. senator.
Blackburn did not learn of the subpoena until October 2025, when it was publicly revealed by Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.
"By not telling the court or the service provider whose records were targeted, Defendant Smith deprived Senator Blackburn of her right to assert her privileges under the Speech or Debate Clause," the complaint states.
Blackburn alleges Smith violated her First Amendment right to associate, her Fourth Amendment protection against unreasonable searches and seizures, and provisions of the Civil Rights Act.
She claims the subpoena was part of a pattern targeting Republicans and Trump supporters, including at least eight other Republican senators.
The complaint notes the timing is significant: Smith issued the subpoena on May 25, 2023, roughly one month after Blackburn became one of the first U.S. senators to endorse Trump for reelection.

Sen. Tuberville to Newsmax: US Must 'Open Our Eyes' to Terror Threat

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., told Newsmax that President Donald Trump is "trying to knock out Iran, the funding of all this terrorism," as the senator reacted to the suspected attempted hijacking of an Israel-bound passenger jet by one of its own pilots.
Asked what he knew about the incident, Tuberville said Wednesday on Newsmax's "National Report" that the flight "avoided a disaster."
"But you have to look back over the last 10, 15 years, there's been tens of thousands of terrorist attacks. And all of them, I mean, absolutely all of them have been Islamic terrorists," he said.
"Sooner or later, we're going to wake up and smell the roses. We're letting them come to this country as fast as they possibly can get here. But we have to make sure we make the people, not just in our country, but across the world safe."
Discussing Trump's effort against Iran, Tuberville said "a lot of people are fighting back on President Trump."
Asked about Israel's defense minister calling the incident an attempted jihadist attack and about some in America working to protect everyone but Americans, Tuberville pointed to Democrats.
"The Democrats in this country, they would rather protect the illegals and the foreigners other than the American taxpayers," he said.
Newsmax reported earlier Wednesday that the flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted and landed safely in Saudi Arabia after one of its pilots allegedly attacked another pilot and apparently tried to crash the plane.
A passenger said a crew member in the cockpit "tried to crash the plane" before passengers and crew subdued the attacker.
"Whoever tried to crash a plane and murder 180 Israelis must pay as if he murdered. He and every state or terrorist organization that sent him," Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said in a statement.

Flydubai Pilot Arrested After Stabbing; Passengers Back in Israel

A flydubai pilot suspected of trying to crash a passenger plane on Wednesday is under arrest in Saudi Arabia, while the passengers who had been aboard the flight, with some being credited for stopping the attack, have been safely returned to Israel on Wednesday, national officials said.
A rescue flight carrying passengers from flydubai Flight FZ1073 landed at Ben-Gurion Airport after departing from Saudi Arabia's Tabuk Airport, reports The Jerusalem Press.
The Saudi airport said all passengers from the original flight had boarded the rescue plane.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at the airport to welcome the passengers. Teams from Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency medical service, and airport medical staff were on hand to provide care.
The original flight was traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv with 174 people aboard, including 166 Israelis, when the plane's co-pilot, reportedly from Oman, stabbed its pilot in what Israeli officials are calling a thwarted terror attack.
The attack occurred about 2 1/2 hours into the flight, which left Dubai shortly before 7 a.m. local time. FlightAware data showed the plane descended from 33,000 feet to 15,400 feet in less than two minutes.
Two off-duty pilots on the plane, having been placed onboard because of the potential of regional rerouting, which would have pushed the original crew beyond their permitted duty hours, a source familiar with the situation told The Post.
Officials said their presence was not related to any advance security warning.
Some passengers initially refused to board a flydubai rescue flight after landing in Saudi Arabia, telling The Jerusalem Post they wanted an Israeli aircraft.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia turned down a request by Israel to allow its military planes to bring back the passengers, as the Saudis have no diplomatic relations with Israel.

More details are emerging about the suspected terror attack aboard a FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv early Wednesday.
What has been confirmed so far is alarming. Israeli officials say the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain and appears to have tried to bring down the aircraft. Flight-tracking data showed the plane rapidly lost nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed during a press conference that an Israeli passenger and a crew member forced their way into the cockpit and subdued the alleged attacker while he was attempting to sabotage the plane’s systems. Netanyahu said the passenger later told him that another flight crew was aboard the aircraft and entered the cockpit to stabilize it after the uncontrolled descent.
The aircraft ultimately landed at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia, where the suspected attacker was detained and is being questioned by Saudi authorities.

The Senate on Sept. 28 passed a bill targeting individuals involved in forced organ harvesting in China.
The bipartisan Falun Gong and Victims of Forced Organ Harvesting Protection Act (S.4009) passed with unanimous consent. It’s now headed to the House for approval.
If the bill becomes law, it will sanction any foreign individuals who have knowingly and directly engaged in the abuse or facilitated it in China, a destination for patients worldwide who are desperate for organs.
Such individuals would be unable to enter the United States, and their U.S. property and transactions would be blocked. Violators could face criminal punishment of up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

Poland has begun constructing a razor-wire fence on its border with Russia’s Kaliningrad, where Moscow has a significant military presence, officials said on Nov. 2.
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak told reporters at a news conference that he has ordered the temporary barrier to be built immediately to ensure that Poland is secure. The barrier will measure 2.5 meters (eight feet) high and three meters (10 feet) deep along the 210-kilometer (130-mile) border.
Błaszczak cited security concerns as the reason behind the construction at the border, which comes amid ongoing tensions with Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
Warsaw is also concerned that the Kremlin plans to facilitate illegal border crossings by Asian and African immigrants in an effort to destabilize Europe, concerns prompted by a recent decision by Russia’s aviation authority to launch flights from the Middle East and North Africa to Kaliningrad.

President Donald Trump and leaders from the tech industry signed a voluntary “accord” on artificial intelligence (AI) standards and controls.
The agreement was made after a meeting with industry leaders at the White House on Tuesday. Trump, during a press briefing after the meeting, described it as “a constitution, in a way.”
“It really is a form of protection,” Trump said.
Trump, administration officials, and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) met with tech industry CEOs amid growing debates over AI’s risks and whether regulatory guardrails are needed to prevent cybersecurity threats.
Trump published the text of the accord to social media hours after he signed it with industry leaders.

Rep. Meuser to Newsmax: Unhappy Voters Won't Go 'Socialist'

Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., told Newsmax on Tuesday that voters frustrated with the economy may be "a little bit unhappy," but they are not going to vote for what he called a "socialist Democrat party" in the midterms.
Asked about Republican strategy heading into the midterms, Meuser said on "Bianca Across the Nation" that "there's a lot of people out there that are frustrated with the price of the pump."
"They might be a little bit unhappy, but they're not going to vote for a socialist Democrat party or socialist party, whatever they're calling themselves today, to literally, as JD Vance puts it sometimes, throw the baby out with the bathwater," Meuser said.

Pollsters to Newsmax: 'Suppression Polls' Real, No 'Blue Wave'

Republicans could face a difficult November, but predictions of a Democratic Party "blue wave" are overblown, and some polling is being used to depress GOP turnout, pollsters Jim McLaughlin and Dustin Olson told Newsmax on Tuesday.
"It's not going to be a great year for Republicans, but it's nothing like what you're being told," Olson told "Wake Up America." "It might be bad, but it also may not be that bad."
Olson acknowledged the GOP is battling significant political headwinds, including the Iran war, its impact on gasoline prices, and voter dissatisfaction with tariffs. But he said Republicans should be skeptical of surveys painting an overwhelmingly bleak picture for the party.

Trump: Tech Leaders Signed Accord to 'Self-Police' AI Development

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that he and a large group of leaders of artificial intelligence companies had signed a voluntary accord that will include internal and external reviews of the technology during a meeting at the White House.
“I think I’m seeing tremendous self-policing. And they understand that they have to self-police,” Trump told reporters outside the West Wing.
The announcement followed an extensive meeting between Trump and numerous leading executives from top tech firms that are spending hundreds of billions of dollars to build out AI infrastructure, including data centers in communities across the country that have sparked grassroots, bipartisan opposition. Many of the executives gathered in Washington have called for a slowdown in the development of the technology after several hgh-profile incidents where AI agents have gone rogue.

Jack Smith’s team got texts of dozens of reporters, bank info from thousands of Americans: Grassley

WASHINGTON — Former special counsel Jack Smith and his investigators obtained communications from reporters for more than a dozen media outlets and financial information from thousands of Americans as part of their “Arctic Frost” probe that resulted in the indictment of President Trump, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) claimed Tuesday.
The Senate Judiciary Committee chairman’s office received whistleblower disclosures that revealed almost 50 journalists had their messages with government sources caught in Smith’s digital dragnet.
The outlets affected include Fox News, CNN, CBS News, NBC News, CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Bloomberg, the Los Angeles Times and New York Magazine.

Ex-special counsel Jack Smith accused of ‘corrupt’ probe of Trump and Republican lawmakers

WASHINGTON — Former special counsel Jack Smith squared off with Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee who accused him Tuesday of illegally targeting President Trump and GOP lawmakers.
Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) accused Smith of running a “corrupt operation” that “undermined the rule of law and threatened our very political institutions.”
“Mr. Smith’s operation was a partisan weapon that broke the rules, lied to the court, and engaged in bad faith throughout his operation,” Grassley added, contending that the outcome of the special counsel’s probe “has no credibility.”

Smith had been tapped as special counsel in November 2022 by then-Attorney General Merrick Garland, who tasked Smith with handling two cases against Trump — one for hoarding national security papers at Mar-a-Lago and another related to his attempt to overturn the 2020 election result.
“Mr. Smith prosecuted Trump for allegedly mishandling classified information,” Grassley noted. “[But] his team left a classified facility open, causing a security violation while prosecuting Trump for effectively the same offense.”
Smith remained defiant in his opening statement, telling the committee: “I stand by my decisions as Special Counsel, including my decision to bring charges against President Trump,” Smith said during his opening remarks. “I made these decisions without regard to President Trump’s political association, activities, beliefs, or candidacy in the 2024 presidential election.”

The perfect metaphor to characterize the U.N. General Assembly delegates who walked out before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke is this: "There are none so blind as those who will not see." You can't make people understand the truth if they choose to ignore it.
The problem with the Middle East is that both sides have their own "truth," which is contradictory because the only alternative to truth is falsehood.
Prime Minister Netanyahu, as he has done in previous U.N. appearances, laid out the truth which dozens of delegates didn't want to hear. "Moral Cowards," Netanyahu called them as he invited others who fit his description to follow them out the door.
Netanyahu then proceeded to detail what he sees as objectively true.
About denying Iran the ability to create a nuclear weapon, Netanyahu said it was "the easiest decision" he has ever made. If he and the U.S. had not done so, he said, "we'd all be dead." Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian ludicrously told Bret Baier of Fox News that Iran was not building a nuclear weapon and never intended to.
Netanyahu continued: "In defending itself, Israel is also defending many of the countries whose delegates just left this hall! In fact, I want you to know that many of their leaders even thank us privately for taking out Iran's nukes. It's hard to imagine more mind-blowing hypocrisy, but that's exactly what it is."
Hypocrisy appears to be the main diet for many at the U.N.
It is good to repeat the history of Israel, which, the prime minister noted, extends back to the days of Moses, as well as contradicts the lies about the country practicing colonialism. In denying Israel is practicing colonialism, he singled out Great Britain and France, which were once colonial empires and are now among Israel's critics.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said he won’t rule out more strikes against Iran ahead of the midterm elections, also saying that he believes the United States is winning the ongoing conflict.
“I don’t want to say that. I mean, it’s possible, but I just don’t want to say that,” Trump said on Sunday at the PGA Tour Presidents Cup in Illinois, when asked by a reporter whether military strikes could be launched against the country before the November elections.
“I think what’s going to happen is we’re going to win this war very soon, and as soon as we win it, the oil will go down, way down to what it was before the war.”

Trump Demands Axios Withdraw Iran 'Hoax' Story

President Donald Trump on Monday called for Axios to "withdraw" a "hoax" story that reported he offered sanctions relief and frozen funds to Iran.
Trump issued the denial on Truth Social after Axios reported, citing U.S. officials, that he was willing to provide Iran economic relief in return for "concrete" concessions involving Tehran's nuclear program.
"Axios just released a story that 'Trump' offered Sanctions Relief and Frozen Funds to Iran. This is untrue. I offered them NOTHING!" Trump wrote.
"Axios' story, like most others, is a HOAX, used only for purposes of satisfying their Trump Derangement Syndrome," he added. "They should withdraw this fake story, IMMEDIATELY!"

No Matter How High the Gas Prices, I Won’t Let Communists Win

Yes, the gas prices are high, but I live in California, where gas prices are always going to be higher than in the rest of the country. I don't blame President Trump, nor do I blame the conflict in Iran. If Iran wasn't trying to blow us up in a nuclear holocaust, then there would have been no reason for the United States to attack them! California shut down two refineries, and they add taxes and fees on top of more taxes and fees. Don’t scream at Trump, blue state residents. Blame your own incompetent state governments!
Am I happy about the inflation? No. Three percent inflation is bad. This is a problem of federal overspending, and I don't think that President Trump's $5,000 dividend proposal is any good. If he's joking, it's still not a great idea. There’s a better way to give us money: let us keep what we already earn. Congress can cut a trillion and a half out of the budget, and then give all of the taxpaying Americans a $5,000 rebate from our 2026 tax
returns.
Affordability, housing costs, wars and rumors of wars: the doomers, the blackpillers, the corporate media, the Democrats and their academic acolytes, all want us to focus on what is wrong or bad. They want their communist pals to get elected up and down the ticket this November.
We must not let some setbacks distract us from the great work that Trump and team have accomplished.
President Trump is doing so much good that I can let the little stuff go. The fact that we have illegal aliens fleeing our country, that visa overstays are getting kicked out, that immigrants who came in legally but caused nothing but trouble are being deported as well, and the fact that President Trump is standing tall and fighting for America makes me so proud to support him and the Republican ticket going into Election 2026.
I'm sick and tired of listening to Americans b***h and moan about how much the gas is. Maybe they should talk to someone who drove their first car in the 1970s, when the OPEC-driven gas shortages were so acute that people could only go to gas stations depending on certain days and whether they had a number or a letter at the end of their license plate. President Trump has been playing 4-D chess when it comes to ensuring energy dominance and stability, protecting American prestige, securing our interests, and advancing our future. Trump took out Venezuelan narco-dictator Nicolas Maduro, then scored an excellent oil deal with the new leadership of the Latin American Communist hellhole, soon to be freed to a republic once again. Trump has put Cuba on its heels and forced it to its knees. Mexico is no longer bailing out bad actors in the Caribbean and helping us defeat the drug cartels, too.

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump revealed plans for the biggest steel plant in United States history during a 2 p.m. ET announcement from the White House on Monday.
“This plant will produce some of the highest quality, most affordable steel anywhere in the world,” Trump said during the event.
Mesabi Metallics executives joined the president and Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) in the Oval Office to highlight the company’s $15 billion investment in Iowa, with the exact location details expected to be announced during the ceremony.
After the first phase of construction is complete, the facility will produce approximately 7.5 million tons of steel annually, increasing to 10 million tons per year once fully constructed.

When Elon Musk took over Twitter, fired four out of give employees, and rebranded it X (just because he thought it sounded cool), the talking heads predicted doom for the company. The opposite happened. It is now one of the most popular sources of news in the world, and a major delivery system for what social media is supposed to be.
He always had more in mind. He explained at the outset that he wanted to turn X into the “everything app.” I winced when I heard those words. As someone who worked in web development for years, I learned to regard every promise of a “one-stop shop” to be foolish. It never happens. Best to pick one thing you do well and stick with it.

In 1867, the United States purchased Alaska from the Russian Empire for $7.2 million.
The deal was widely ridiculed. Critics called it "Seward's Folly," after the secretary of state and lead negotiator, William Seward.
In hindsight, given the state's immense natural resources and strategic location, it's tough to think of Alaska as anything other than one of America's most important territorial expansions since Thomas Jefferson's Louisiana Purchase.
Yet many have still not learned their lesson about the Monroe Doctrine, which warned foreign powers not to meddle with the U.S. in our hemisphere.
Even fewer have learned their lesson about America's national interest in the Arctic region.
President Donald Trump's new Greenland deal proves it.
Trump has long sought the frigid, sparsely populated Danish territory.
In August 2019, Trump confirmed he was eyeing Greenland, referring to the massive island as "strategically nice" for the U.S.
The Danish prime minister dismissed any American acquisition as "absurd," but the idea never died.
Just before his second term, Trump again declared U.S. ownership of Greenland an "absolute necessity."
Shortly afterward, Donald Trump Jr. and the late Charlie Kirk toured the island.
Ever since, Trump the elder has repeatedly argued that the U.S. must acquire Greenland, citing its prized location and its coveted rare earth minerals.
Democrats and transatlantic elites scoffed in unison.
Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-Calif., the House Democratic Caucus chairman, called Trump's rhetoric "completely unhinged." Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., took a break from conveniently ignoring his disgraced friend Eric Swalwell to rebuke Trump as "an idiot."
Former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer blasted Trump's threat of tariffs on nations opposed to an American acquisition as "completely wrong."
French President Emmanuel Macron attacked the possible duties as "unacceptable."
It was all just as tedious as it was predictable.
In reality, Trump was just doing what he does best on the world stage: Pursue "The Art of the Deal" by aiming very high, applying massive leverage, and then landing in a place that isn't exactly where he was targeting but that still redounds solidly to the American national interest.
True, the new deal Trump just signed with the Danish and Greenlandic prime ministers on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly doesn't acquire Greenland for the U.S.
But in every other way, this deal is a yuge win for the administration.
The deal affirms two new sites where the U.S. will station troops and build bases.
That's in addition to America's lonely current outpost, the remote Pituffik Space Base, home to about 150 troops.
That outpost will also now be "modernized and expanded."
The deal explicitly includes Greenland in Trump's sprawling "Golden Dome" missile defense system.
It clarifies that no non-NATO nation can ever establish a military presence in the tundra.
And it binds Denmark to working closely with the U.S. to counter Russian and Chinese espionage in the world's largest island.
And finally, the kicker: The deal gives the U.S. "permanent control over security and all other needs" in Greenland, regardless of whether Greenland ultimately wins independence from Denmark.
That's a win for the Monroe Doctrine.
It's a win for the United States.
It's a win for Trump.
And it's another win for Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who ironed out the final deal in his typically smooth fashion.

President Donald Trump on Monday urged MAGA supporters to "pretend I am on the ballot" and vote in the midterms.
Trump issued the call on Truth Social as Republicans seek to preserve their congressional majorities with about five weeks remaining before Election Day.
"MAGA, pretend I am on the ballot," Trump wrote. "Don't let them open your Borders, and allow crime to again flourish. KEEP AMERICA GREAT!!!"

Report: Trump to Unveil $15 Billion Iowa Steel Project

President Donald Trump is expected to announce Monday a Minnesota company's plan to build a $15 billion steel mill in Iowa, a project that could support more than 1,700 jobs and rank among the largest steelmaking operations in the country, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Trump is set to unveil the proposal at the White House alongside executives from Mesabi Metallics, which this month began preliminary production at the first new iron ore mine to open in Minnesota in nearly 50 years, according to the Journal.
Steel production at the proposed eastern Iowa facility could begin in 2030, a White House official told the newspaper.
