China analyst Gordon Chang told Newsmax on Thursday that the country needs Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz more than the United States does.

"We are energy independent. We are food independent. China is neither," Chang said on "Greg Kelly Reports." "And that really means we're the only superpower in the world."

"China needs us much more than we need China," Chang said. "And yes, there are certainly things that we absolutely depend on the Chinese for. But when you look at the balance of the relationship, we're in a much better position."

Chang said he hopes the United States goes forward with a planned $14 billion arms sale to Taiwan.

"I believe we need to do that because not only do we instill confidence in Taiwan, in the Taiwanese people, but also in Japan as well as around the world," Chang said. "And the other thing we do is we show that we've got political will, and that is going to have a very good effect on whoever is running Iran right now."

"There are a number of things that we can do to push the world in much better directions," Chang added. "We have pushed China out of the Western Hemisphere. We're pushing them out of the Middle East. Xi Jinping is just helpless."

President Donald Trump on Wednesday revealed he plans to speak directly with Taiwanese leader Lai Ching-te, marking a departure from decades of U.S. precedent.

Such talks promise to antagonize China, where Trump recently traveled to meet with President Xi Jinping and discuss Taiwan. Beijing has long sought to assert communist control over the strategically placed island, which lies just off of China’s coast, after it broke away from the mainland in 1949 and attempted to assert itself as a sovereign democratic nation.

When pressed on whether he planned to speak with Lai about possibly selling the tiny island weapons, Trump said: “I’ll speak to him. I speak to everybody … we’ll work on that, the Taiwan problem.”

Beijing protested the move, while Taiwan’s foreign ministry said Thursday that it would be “happy to discuss these matters with President Trump.”

WASHINGTON—U.S. lawmakers are introducing legislation that would prohibit American investors from funding companies controlled by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials on the U.S. blacklist.

The legislation, shared with The Epoch Times ahead of its release, would direct the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to add blacklisted Chinese individuals to his department’s Non-SDN Chinese Military-Industrial Complex Companies List (NS-CMIC) within one year of their identification.

“No one working on behalf of the CCP’s military interests should be doing business in this country,” Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) said in a statement to The Epoch Times on May 21.

The NS-CMIC list, managed by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, aims to identify companies linked to the Chinese regime’s military sector.

Commentary

One American view of China—now increasingly popular on the Left and the Right alike, especially among the hate-Trump crowd—is that the communist colossus will be forever ascendant, with continued astonishing levels of food production, ship construction, and industrial output. In this pessimistic view, China will soon replace America as the world’s predominant power. We are, supposedly, like an exhausted British Empire circa 1945, and China is the new version of the postwar American powerhouse.

Yet even Beijing’s miraculous 30-year leap out of poverty into first-world affluence and Westernized power is hardly the same as parity with the United States. In truth, Trump held almost all the cards at the current summit and will do so again when Xi Jinping visits the U.S. this autumn. According to nearly every historical measure of power, the U.S. leads China by sizable margins—in wealth, economic output, fuel, food, and military strength.

China and Russia are no longer operating from positions of strength and are increasingly leaning on one another as President Donald Trump reasserts American power on the world stage, China expert Gordon Chang said Thursday on Newsmax.

Chang told "National Report" that despite the high-profile meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing, the reality behind the scenes points to a strained relationship between the two U.S. adversaries.

"On the surface, it looks like things are fine," he said after noting the two nations signed 40 agreements during Putin's visit. "But Putin did not get what he came for — and that was to go forward on the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline."

That failure, Chang said, reveals growing weakness and friction between Moscow and Beijing.

"So we know that relations between China and Russia right now are not as good as they once were," he said.

Recently, at the U.S.-China summit in Beijing, Premier Xi [Jinping] mentioned that he hoped that both parties, the United States and China, could avoid the Thucydides Trap.

What did that mean? It refers to a book and an article by the well-known political scientist Graham Allison.

In it, he presented a paradigm of international relations. Briefly, it was this: If you have an established power, like ancient Sparta, and it gets worried that there is an ascending power, a rising new neighborhood bully or something, the older power, the established power, will attack it, and there will be a war.

Voice of America went from exposing the failures of communism to glorifying its dictators

In less than 40 years, the taxpayer-funded Voice of America went from exposing the crimes and economic failures of communism to in some cases glorifying communists, including Fidel Castro and Che Guevara.

VOA is part of the federal government’s $800 million (average annual budget) U.S. Agency for Global Media.

I am an Eastern European refugee from communism. Judging from what one can see online in various languages, I’ve concluded that recent and current VOA and USAGM officials either do not know or have forgotten what life was like for tens of millions of people living under communism and in state-run socialist economies in the former Soviet bloc.

My observations are shared by many dissident journalists in China, Cuba, Iran, Russia, and Ethiopia, as well as political refugees and immigrants from these countries living in the United States, who have been criticizing the management of the VOA programs for damaging the cause of human rights. That was absolutely not the case 40 years ago when I was in charge of the VOA Polish Service, broadcasting to Poland under the martial law imposed by pro-Soviet communists on Dec. 13, 1981.

Today, USAGM and VOA press releases are full of laudatory and often misleading claims from government bureaucrats. It is true that not all of today’s VOA language services are bad, and many outstanding journalists still work there. But the kind of criticism one hears now from citizens of captive nations about strategically important VOA programs would not have been ignored by any U.S. administration during the Cold War or by the commercial U.S. media.

After the VOA’s management was reformed under President Ronald Reagan, to the great discomfort of many former longtime executives and some central English newsroom reporters, VOA’s weekly audience in Poland increased fivefold in less than 10 years — to more than 50% of the adult population. In the 1980s, VOA was finally able to contribute significantly to the fall of communism in East-Central Europe, almost as much as Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. In contrast, VOA’s recent broadcasting in Afghanistan ended in a disaster. VOA’s impact in Russia, China, and Iran is now minuscule. Independent experts question USAGM’s inflated and often meaningless audience claims.

The amnesia of recent and current VOA officials about history and their failure to provide leadership are particularly dangerous at a time when Russian President Vladimir Putin may be getting ready to invade Ukraine and uses Belarus in a hybrid war against the neighboring nations in the European Union.

Chinese, Cuban, Ethiopian, and Iranian government propagandists have also been given an advantage by VOA and USAGM management’s failures. During the Cold War, VOA did not abandon any journalists behind the Iron Curtain. The VOA/USAGM management left behind in Afghanistan about 500 Afghan employees and family members. Senior agency executives could not see what was coming and did not order a prompt evacuation.

There are not enough VOA and USAGM managers with good judgment informed by a solid grasp of history.

A few years ago, a top VOA official seemed to question whether disinformation outlets such as Russia’s RT should be made to register in the U.S. as foreign agents. “When the U.S. government compels RT to register as a foreign agent, then other governments consider requiring U.S. media to register as foreign agents and then…,” the VOA executive wrote in a 2017 Facebook post, which was later deleted. It happened at about the same time VOA’s management carelessly hired several former Russian state media employees.

Foreign propaganda had found its way into VOA programs at various times. The VOA chief news writer and editor in 1943 was American novelist Howard Fast, who was later a Communist Party activist and the recipient of the 1953 Stalin International Peace Prize.

Censorship in favor of Soviet Russia has also been part of VOA history. In the early 1950s, before President Harry Truman carried out reforms, VOA censored a Polish writer and artist, Jozef Czapski, who had been a witness of Stalin’s genocidal crimes. In the 1970s, VOA even censored Russian dissident writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.

Such censorship ended under Reagan but has returned in recent years. Under Obama administration appointees, VOA English programs lauded American communist winner of the Lenin Peace Prize Angela Davis as a fighter for human rights, without any attempt to provide balance with information about her pro-Soviet past. Solzhenitsyn had once spoken bitterly about Davis in describing the methods of Soviet propaganda and how figures such as her were used to justify oppression.

The VOA Russian Service used recently as an on-air personality a former Russian TV anchor who, before his employment with VOA, produced anti-U.S. propaganda films with antisemitic overtones. One of his older videos on YouTube promoted conspiracy theories spread in Russia and in the West by Putin’s state media. The film put the blame on the U.S. government, American capitalists, and “Jewish bankers” for exploiting the economies of other countries around the world.

In March 2019, top USAGM and VOA officials received an email with information about this provided by opposition journalists from Belarus. A Belorussian refugee media outlet had expressed a profound shock that a person with a Russian propaganda work record could be hired by the U.S. government-funded broadcaster to host VOA programs. But nothing happened for many months, during which this journalist continued to be employed by VOA. The VOA management has since hired a few other journalists who had previously worked for Putin’s state media and seem particularly proud of their work in Russia.

During the same time, under the watch of recent and current VOA and USAGM executives, employees and contractors produced news reports and graphics that glorified repressive communist leaders. They did not mention the crimes of Marxist dictators and the failures of socialist state economies.

That is a far cry from how the VOA responded to propaganda from the Soviet Union and other communist states in the 1980s.

In mid-December 2021, the VOA English news website ignored the 40th anniversary of the imposition of martial law in Poland by the pro-Soviet regime of General Wojciech Jaruzelski. The event could have provided a useful history lesson, given that Soviet threats at that time against the Polish Solidarity movement were very similar to today’s Russian threats against Ukraine.

There was something else VOA’s foreign and U.S. audiences could have learned from history. During martial law in Poland, we received thousands of letters from listeners with requests for humanitarian assistance. In one such letter, sent to the VOA in November 1982, a mother of three girls, ages 7, 11, and 12, asked if VOA could help her. She wanted to find an American family willing to send used clothing and shoes for her young children. All three girls signed their names. The letter came to us from central Poland.

The mother wrote that the helplessness of her situation had forced her to suppress her shame and to ask VOA for help. She wanted her girls to have something warm to wear going to school in the approaching winter months. “We already have frost,” she wrote. “I’m afraid that my children will not have anything to wear to go to school. They have outgrown what we had bought two years ago. I can’t count on any humanitarian aid; I had already tried. You have to have connections.” Women wrote the majority of letters sent from Poland to VOA during the Cold War with requests for humanitarian assistance.

Unfortunately, this letter did not reach VOA before Christmas. A U.S. Postal Service stamp on the envelope shows that it was received in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 27, 1982. We used to forward such letters to charitable organizations in the U.S. If any packages from America with aid had arrived at their home in Poland, it would have been long after Christmas.

In her letter to VOA, the Polish woman did not make any direct references to the political situation in her country, but she made it abundantly clear that the communist regime in power was responsible for many years of economic deprivation for her young family. The system that produced such economic misery and killed millions of people should not be promoted by VOA to the rest of the world at the expense of U.S. taxpayers and in violation of the VOA Charter.

Warsaw, Poland — The United States wants nothing more than to transition Cuba away from its decades of failed communist economics, and Poland is reminding the White House that it knows a thing or two about the process.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, speaking with reporters at the ministry building in Warsaw on Tuesday, said his country is perfectly equipped to help transform centralized states into free markets — a task they accomplished themselves just a generation ago.

“Poland can leverage its firsthand experience from the 1989 transition and the Solidarity movement to advise Cuba through a peaceful, democratic transition and market reform,” Sikorski told the Washington Examiner.

Elon Musk is taking SpaceX public, filing paperwork for an initial public offering that would put one of the world’s most valuable private companies on the stock market.

The May 20 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission says SpaceX plans to trade under the ticker “SPCX” on Nasdaq while Musk is expected to retain control through special voting shares.

SpaceX reported $18.6 billion in revenue in 2025 but also acknowledged significant operating losses as it poured billions into artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

Musk founded SpaceX in 2002. The company designs, manufactures, launches, and operates rockets, spacecraft, and satellite networks. ...

Raúl Castro, the former Cuban leader, has been indicted on murder charges in the United States, court records unsealed on May 20 show. The move marks intensifying U.S. pressure on the communist regime as the island grapples with severe economic turmoil.

The charges stem from his alleged role in Cuba’s 1996 shooting down of two planes belonging to a humanitarian group called Brothers to the Rescue, in which three U.S. citizens and one lawful resident were killed.

The indictment, filed in federal court in Miami, charged Castro and five codefendants with one count of conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals, four counts of murder, and two counts of destruction of aircraft.

Two high-profile murder cases are moving forward on opposite sides of the country. In each, because of its reckless rhetoric, the left is an unindicted co-conspirator.

Luigi Mangione, who is charged with the brutal murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is awaiting trial in Manhattan. Tyler Robinson is being prosecuted in the brutal murder of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in Provo, Utah.

In both cases, hearings are underway to determine which evidence may be admitted at trial.

New analysis reveals about 6,500 joint research projects have been produced via partnerships between Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-linked institutions and Australian-New Zealand universities.

The research found 80 Australian organisations have worked with various CCP-linked institutions since 2020 to create 6,000 STEM publications.

While 10 New Zealand organisations have collaborated with CCP-linked groups to create 500 publications.

The report, From Innovation to Weaponisation: How China Exploits the Australian and New Zealand Open Scientific Systems, was compiled by Strider Technologies, a strategic intelligence firm.

Texas Republican politics were practically turned upside down Tuesday morning as President Donald Trump endorsed state Attorney General Ken Paxton in the party's May 26 runoff for U.S. Senate.

Paxton was edged out 42% to 40% in the initial GOP primary by four-term Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, but since neither received a majority, they are facing each other in the runoff.

Several sources among Lone Star State Republicans believe that had Cornyn gained momentum and moved ahead in the polls, the president might have either given his blessing to the incumbent or held to earlier predictions that he would have remained neutral.

"And had he given Paxton an appointment, this race might have been over two weeks ago," said one veteran GOP activist who requested anonymity.

But with a University of Houston Hobby School of Public Affairs poll released May 1 showing Paxton leading Cornyn 48% to 45% among likely runoff voters, the contest was far from over.

Paxton is among the most controversial politicians in Texas. Two years ago, he survived an impeachment trial in the state Senate dealing primarily with his conduct in office. Last year, state Sen. Angela Paxton, his estranged wife, accused him of having multiple extramarital affairs and filed for divorce in July, alleging adultery. 

None of this deterred Trump from announcing his support for the Texas attorney general.

"Ken Paxton has gone through a lot, in many cases, very unfairly, but he is a Fighter, and knows how to WIN," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. "Our Country needs Fighters, and also Loyalty to the Cause of Greatness."

In the same post, the president called Cornyn "a good man," though he added that, in his view, the senator "was not supportive [of Trump] when times were tough."

Based on results from contested primaries in Indiana, Kentucky, and Louisiana in which Trump has taken a role, Paxton is now the favorite to win the Republican nomination.

"One should never be surprised by something Donald Trump does, and I would not be surprised if Paxton wins the nomination now," Wayne Thorburn, former executive director of the Texas Republican Party and author of three books on Texas politics, told Newsmax. "Trump's domination of the Republican primary electorate is being proven every day."

OPINION: 

How successful was the summit last week in Beijing? President Trump said it was a “great success.” Xi Jinping, China’s supreme ruler, merely called the meeting “constructive.”

Perhaps Mr. Xi thought: “Trump is cunning and unpredictable, so I had better keep our relations on an even keel while he is in office.”

It is also possible that he thought: “I know how to play Trump. Vladimir Putin is also paying me a visit in a few days. I will tell him, Kim Jong-un and those now calling the shots in Tehran what they need to do next.”

If you watched the summit on TV, you saw the pageantry: a military honor guard, flag-waving children and an elaborate red-carpet ceremony.

What you might not have noticed: All that was staged in the shadow of Tiananmen Square, where, in 1989, the Chinese Communist Party massacred hundreds, possibly thousands, of peaceful pro-democracy demonstrators.

Nine years later, the blood long since scrubbed from the square, President Clinton arrived in Beijing to toast China’s rulers. He soon began pushing for China’s admission into the World Trade Organization. That came about in 2001.

“Bringing China into the WTO is a win-win decision,” Mr. Clinton said. “It will protect our prosperity, and it will promote the right kind of change in China.”

It was a noble experiment, and it failed.

President Donald Trump has endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the May 26 GOP Senate runoff in Texas.

In a May 19 post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that Paxton has been loyal to him and is a “MAGA Warrior.” The president said that Cornyn “is a good man” but was not supportive of him “when times were tough,” such as being late in endorsing him for president in 2024. 

Speaking to reporters, the president said he had made his decision a long time ago, although he did not specify exactly when. 

In a post on X, Paxton said he is “incredibly honored” to have Trump’s endorsement.

HEBRON, Ky.—Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) lost his Republican primary on May 19 to former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein.

President Donald Trump had endorsed Gallrein as part of his effort to get Massie removed from Congress.

Gallrein had tallied 54 percent of the votes compared to 45 percent for Massie when The Associated Press called the race at 7.54 p.m. ET.

The race in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional district was one of the nation’s most closely watched Republican primaries of the 2026 election cycle.

The district stretches from the Kentucky suburbs of Cincinnati across the Ohio River in northern Kentucky southward to the outskirts of Louisville, incorporating coal towns and rural villages in the Appalachian foothills.

Fidel Castro's younger yet equally communist brother may well find himself in hot water with the American federal justice system. Late on Tuesday, reports surfaced that the Trump administration's Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking an indictment of Raúl Castro. The specifics aren't yet known, but any charges are expected to arise from the 1996 shooting down of two aircraft belonging to the Miami-based Cuban exile group, Brothers to the Rescue. Raúl Castro was Cuba's Minister of Defense at that time.

The U.S. efforts to reduce China’s influence in Latin America via Panama and Venezuela are missing a significant source of Chinese counter-U.S. action in the hemisphere. In several ways, Mexico is China’s greatest strategic partner, as Beijing’s penetration of the United States increasingly runs through Mexico.

What’s more, the range of Mexico’s collaboration with Beijing spans the spectrum of legal and illegal activities—a multi-layered system involving fentanyl precursor trafficking, cartel partnerships, money laundering, industrial relocation, sanctions evasion, and exploitation of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Jeanine Pirro Issues Threat to Parents of Children Who Participate in 'Teen Takeovers'

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced on Friday that her office will target the parents of children who participate in violent “teen takeovers” in the District of Columbia.

During a press conference, Pirro noted that “these takeovers have terrorized our neighborhoods,” “shut down businesses,” and “wasted hard-earned tax dollars of law-abiding residents who just want to live and work in peace.”

“Starting today, my office will aggressively prosecute parents under D.C.'s curfew law,” Pirro continued.

This statute makes it unlawful for an adult to enable, facilitate, or permit a minor to engage in delinquent acts. The penalty is up to six months imprisonment. So if the evidence shows the parent knew or should have known or permitted or failed to prevent participation, we're going to charge them. And if you drop your kid off and you fail to supervise them or you let them skip school to join the chaos, you are going to face fines, court-ordered classes, and possible jail time.

The U.K. is in a horrifying place. They are something of a test case, a major Western power hooked on too much globalism, and as you can see from consistent reports emerging from the country, the Brits are being crushed by an authoritarianism that hides its dictatorial behavior behind a mask of social justice. Some Republicans running in primaries are learning that the party's base wants GOP lawmakers to strongly support President Donald Trump, Rep. John Rose, R-Tenn., told Newsmax on Monday.

Appearing on Newsmax's "Wake Up America Early," Rose said voters have made it clear they expect Republicans to stand firmly behind Trump's "America First" agenda, especially as the president confronts threats abroad and works to repair the economy after the Biden administration.

"I think you do see a result, consequences if you will, of not sticking with the president," Rose said.

"The Republican base wants to see our Republican legislators support the president. I think that couldn't be really clearer."

Rose said Trump's political comeback after years of investigations and attacks from Democrats proved voters rejected "weaponization" of government against the president.

"Some Republicans fell victim to that," Rose said. "I think now they're seeing that so-called chickens come home to roost."

Women obtained the right to vote in America barely over a century ago. The battle for these voting rights, both political and cultural in nature, was won due to the blood, sweat, and tears of many like Smedley. It was the result of a long and strenuous pursuit of full equality in the election of a representative government.

On Sunday morning, Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche appeared on Fox News Sunday Morning Futures opposite host Maria Bartiromo. There Are Enemies and Then There Are Enemies

Donald Trump knows how to change gears when dealing with America’s friends and foes.

Donald Trump did a whirlwind visit to China, where he brought the cream of the American CEO crop. Who didn’t try to get a selfie with Elon Musk who visited with one of his children? The president was shown respect that neither Obama nor Biden ever received. While one would think that strong leaders like President Xi (the guy who got rid of the 2 x 5 year presidency respected by all of his predecessors) like weak leaders of their enemies, the truth is often quite the opposite. An Obama/Gordon Brown or Biden/Starmer weak-weak arrangement worked out because each one was a loser and did not feel threatened by the other. When a strong leader deals with a weaker one, he often does not know if the other other fellow can deliver the goods. Xi knows that Trump can get stuff done, so dealing with him is dealing with the United States. The praise Xi heaped on Trump and the US at the official state dinner was extraordinary.

There are many reasons not to like China or its behavior. An incomplete list would include the following:

* Abuse of World Trade Organization membership
* Currency manipulation
* Making North Korea a nuclear state
* Endlessly threatening to take Taiwan
* Intellectual property theft
* Closed markets to US goods
* Taking and militarizing islands that don’t belong to China
* Buying US farmland too close to military installations
* Supporting Iran and Russia
* Locking up dissidents
* Using their commercial cars and drones to spy on the West


This list is by no means exhaustive. During my sole visit to China, I found police and soldiers to be everywhere. The security at the train stations was greater than Israel has at Ben Gurion Airport. We weren’t encouraged to walk around by ourselves, and like the president and his staff, we left our phones at home and brought older models just to stay in touch. Every Chinese company is an extension of the Chinese government. Many students and foreign scholars in the West have the same status. China is no friend of the United States, however much trade exists between the countries. And just as Donald Trump and his people did not bring their phones or laptops, they disposed of any and everything given to them during their brief visit to the Chinese capital. I don’t recall a similar protocol of throwing everything out prior to flying home. That says everything one needs to know (and bringing food from the US) about the level of trust that Washington has for Beijing.

With all of the above in mind, The US still has to deal with China. There are enemies like Cuba and Venezuela that can be handled with minimal invasive action. Then there are enemies like Iran that are big enough and militarily strong enough that it takes some time to deal with them. Then there is China. She has nuclear weapons and also has dreams of passing the US for world economic and military leadership. And that’s where the problem always is. For all of the nice talk about working together, the world being better when cooperating, etc., the Chinese—or communists at large—never hold up their end of the bargain. It is a relief to hear President Xi talk about the US and China doing good things together, but when the rubber hits the road, the Chinese continue with everything listed above. Israel has banned Chinese electric cars from air force bases because they understand that those cars spy. The British concluded that such cars spied on top ministers. The Chinese making US products and then continuing with their own knock-offs is not going to end. Chinese aggression towards its neighbors will not be a thing of the past. And they are not going to take North Korea’s nuclear weapons away as a sign of good will. In short, while the words and probably the food were lovely, China remains a competitive foe of the United States.

And Donald Trump played them like a fiddle. He did not come in a combative or threatening manner. Rather, he praised China and Xi to high heaven. He brought along his top associates and the power group of American CEOs. He knows that China, like the Soviet Union, will collapse from within. It will not be destroyed militarily. Fighting China is not a slam dunk. While their technology may not be as good as its Western competition (as suggested from some purported failures in the Iranian theater), it has the numbers and the will to fight. So instead of going kinetic, Donald Trump is going empathetic: let’s be friends, let’s do deals, come visit me in September…. All the while, China has some serious problems on its ledgers:

* The one child policy has been a disaster and the country will in a few years need to import workers.
* The country’s real estate sector is in crisis
* Without the US market, Chinese workers will be unemployed and not very happy
* Corruption and China both begin with the letter “C”
* The Belt And Road program has created a lot of bad will from the third-world clients who owe Beijing a fortune
* China used to buy 90% of Iran’s oil. All gone.

China is not going away any time soon and the thought of some type of internal rebellion seems far-fetched. But economic gravity and military corruption will show that the emperor is wearing Temu underwear. The Chinese never advertise their failings or weaknesses, but that does not mean that they do not exist. And just as the Soviet Union collapsed from its failed program, China may find that it can no longer move forward with too few workers and more expensive raw materials and energy. Donald Trump realizes that he cannot defeat China militarily, but if he can wait them out, their own internal problems may get the best of them. Would China still want to attack Taiwan after witnessing the incredible success of American weapons and platforms in the Iran War?

As to Iran the enemy, they still don’t understand Donald Trump. He is really willing to let the IRGC and Mullah of the Month continue to run the place if they just give up all of their nuclear ambitions. They don’t believe him and their pride makes them fools, talking about reparations and an end of hostility—without any mention of dealing with the nuclear issues. Even Donald Trump has finite patience, and the midterms are coming. Most expect a resumption of fighting this week, and the targets will be catastrophic for the Iranian regime. They will lose their means of energy production and probably several top people to boot. The extended time-out has allowed the US and Israel to add weapons and service the air frames that seemed to flying non-stop. Maduro was offered an out and he laughed at the US. The Iranians were offered an off-ramp but they couldn’t get over their egos to accept it. Maduro is gone and the Iranians are about to get hit in a manner that they did not feel during the more restrained Phase I of the kinetic war. When Israel hit a natural gas field, it was chastised by the US. No more of that.

The US has many enemies because the US shows a way of life that is an anathema to dictators and religious zealots. The freedoms Americans enjoy are more threatening to a strongman than B-52s loaded with bombs. The US offers hope to those who live under the jackboot and rifle of their government. The hatred towards the US from its enemies is a compliment as to the greatness of the country as she celebrates her 250th birthday.
