Criminal inquiry opened into Grenfell Tower fire as death toll rises

PROTEST has turned violent in London with residents and activists demanding action in response to the devastating Grenfell Tower fire.

Screaming “we want an inquest” and “we want justice” protesters besieged the Kensington Town Hall with signs and loud-speakers.

Residents are furious their warnings that Grenfell Tower was a fire trap fell on deaf ears at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, which owned the tower.

Scuffles broke out as police attempted to escort council staff away from the building.

A group of people managed to get into the offices, screaming “murderers” and demanding council leaders come outside and give an explanation.
