WASHINGTON — A Senate panel is investigating whether former Attorney General Loretta Lynch interfered in the FBI probe of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, according to a letter sent to Lynch on Friday.
The letter from Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein asked Lynch to detail her involvement in the Justice Department’s investigation of Clinton and her correspondence during the course of it with members of Clinton’s inner circle or Democratic National Committee staffers.
“During your time in the Justice Department, did you ever have communications with [former DNC chairwoman] Rep. [Debbie] Wasserman Schultz, her staff, her associates, or any other current or former DNC officials about the Clinton email investigation?” reads one of six questions included in the letter.
