Has a bromance developed between Russia's Vladimir Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong Un?

The supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is set to make his foreign trip since taking power three years ago.

It is understood he accepted an invitation from Russian president Vladimir Putin to Moscow to mark the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany, according to reports.

He is among 26 world leaders who agreed to attend the celebration. A military parade in Moscow's Red Square will be the highlight of the event.

Korea has not officially commented on the matter.

It is understood several western leaders have snubbed invitations to the military parade because of Russia's role in the Ukraine conflict.

The announcement comes after Putin resurfaced following a bizarre ten-day absence which sparked frenzied "rumours" over his health and whereabouts.

Emerging after days of speculation that he was either ill or had even been deposed in a palace coup, Putin stepped out with the leader of ex-Soviet Kyrgyzstan on Monday.
