President Barack Obama issued a proclamation Thursday barring entry into the United States of any individuals who have participated in war crimes or other serious human rights violations.
Under the terms of the order, which took effect immediately, the secretary of state is responsible for determining who will be kept out of the country. Exceptions can be made to accommodate U.S. foreign interests.
"Universal respect for human rights and humanitarian law and the prevention of atrocities internationally promotes U.S. values and fundamental U.S. interests in helping secure peace, deter aggression, promote the rule of law, combat crime and corruption, strengthen democracies, and prevent humanitarian crises around the globe," Obama said in the proclamation.

In this thread: Michael Fury shamelessly promotes his Blog.
Is Fury really your last name? And are you any relation to Nick?

Does this include "war crimes or other serious human rights violations" that happened in the past? Or are we still "looking forward, not back"?

@ SusieQ
agree.
benjamin netanyahu or his defence minister would never face this ban.
Oh! I forgot. We saw the spectacle of our Congress bowing to him 29 times, just to spite the President Of USA & to show their allegiance to that Apartheid oppressive regime when this man visited Washington recently.
And would you believe that this is the same person who expressed glee over 9/11 attacks. declaring that " 9/11 attacks have been very good for Israel" & "We are benefitting from attacks on Twin Towers, Pentagon & America struggling in Iraq". In a speech to Bar Ilan university in April of 2008.
The brave jews in Organizations like JStreet & Jewish voice for Peace, Rabbis of N.America for peace. The courageous Israeli academics & organizations like Gush Shalom who oppose the un-democratic & unjust policies of this oppressive regime continue to be repressed.

Why are Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and people like that still in the USA. They should be in Guantanamo wearing an orange suite. We let you into thsi country if you can help us screw the rest of the world. I think that is what Hillary Clinton told her bodies around the world. Where is she anyway? I bet she is on mission in South Africa on a Safari.

Ah, Michael Fury. The number one spot for conspiracy theorists. Isn't there some way to keep him from clogging our blogging? When the comments section is made up almost entirely of his spamming, it's time to this the herd. Isn't there something we can do about internet bores?

Amen to that. But that is not going to happen. Remember we are no longer the nation we once claimed to be.

Happy Birthday to you, President Barack Hussein Obama! Thanks for your hard work, but do you & your party think you can start being a bit more forceful, toward the crazy idea spouting teabags, & repubs who back their antics! Working class American people would really appreciate it! Otherwise have a great B-Day with your family & friends!!
