A FORMER Securency executive faces charges of facilitating the largest bribe allegedly paid by the Reserve Bank subsidiary to win currency contracts in Asia.

Federal police allege that former Securency sales boss Clifford John Gerathy facilitated payments of $17.2 million to an agent in Vietnam and falsified accounts in regard to a contract in Malaysia.
He surrendered his passport in the Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday after becoming the seventh former executive from Securency and Note Printing Australia to be charged in the scandal. Federal police also laid additional charges against two others already embroiled in the scandal.
Gerathy, 60, was a friend of Securency's former managing director Myles Curtis, who was last month charged with bribery offences allegedly involving millions of dollars paid to middlemen to win banknote contracts in Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia. Gerathy took a position at Securency after he was asked to leave his job at the Reserve Bank.
It is alleged that Gerathy conspired with Curtis, former Securency senior sales executive Rognvald Marchant and Securency to bribe a foreign official between 2001 and 2004. He was also charged with falsifying a debit note in 2006, the first time such a charge has been laid in the investigation.
His first charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years' jail and/or a $1.1 million fine, and the second carries a maximum 10-year term.
Commonwealth prosecutor David Sewell did not oppose Gerathy's application for bail. He said 68 volumes of case material would be served to Gerathy tomorrow.
Magistrate Franz Holzer granted bail but ordered Gerathy, of Maroubra in Sydney's east, to report to police weekly, not to leave Australia and not to associate with his co-accused or contact prosecution witnesses other than the informant.
He will next appear with his co-accused in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on September 23.
Federal police said the bribery investigation was continuing in Australia and overseas, with 20 members assigned to it full-time.
Further charges have been filed against Securency and two Victorians previously charged, accusing them of conspiracy to bribe foreign officials over alleged bribes paid in Malaysia and Vietnam between 2001 and 2006. The company faces a maximum $330,000 fine per offence if convicted.
Securency and NPA were last month charged with bribery offences, including an accusation Securency bribed Vietnam's former central bank governor by paying for one of his children to attend an English university. Both companies are expected to plead guilty.
The AFP's prosecution of Securency and NPA is the first under Australia's 12-year-old foreign bribery laws. Securency is half-owned and supervised by the RBA. NPA is a full subsidiary.

Cây được nuôi dưỡng bằng phân bón chứa đầy vi khuẩn độc hại của lòai KÝ SINH TRÙNG có thể trổ hoa, kết trái tươi tốt mà không bị NHIỄM ĐỘC ???
Vậy, những kẻ tự nguyện làm chó, làm bò, làm trâu ngựa cho Việt gian csVN cỡi, tình nguyện làm tay sai, đầy tớ cho bè lũ phản quốc CƯỚP NƯỚC DIỆT CHỦNG BÁN NƯỚC csVN sai khiến có đáng cho dân tộc VN nguyền rủa , phỉ nhổ với những vết nhơ đời đời trong Dòng Sử Việt ???
