•'Despicable behaviour'
The Northern Territory's biggest nightclub has been closed after a camera was found in a room women used to get changed in.
The Northern Territory's biggest nightclub will be closed for two weeks later this month over what the Licensing Commission has described as "despicable behaviour".
Discovery Nightclub on Mitchell St, Darwin
The commission found Darwin's Discovery Nightclub had a security camera in an impromptu dressing room which women used to get changed for wet T-shirt contests.
It says the club breached rules by not placing a sign near the room warning women that they could be filmed.
The commission also found that in January, 40 shots were handed out to 10 women participating in the wet T-shirt competition.
Amy Williamson from the Territory branch of the Australian Hotels Association has backed the decision to penalise the club.
"Where licensees are doing the wrong thing, they will experience the full force if the law through penalties handed down through the commission," she said.
"That's certainly what the commission has decided to do in these circumstances."

Since these women were entering wet T-shirt comps, where everyone gets to see their 'goods' anyway, maybe they thought it wasn't necessary to warn the women they would be filmed. Maybe they just assumed these women wouldn't care about stuff like that. Not excusing it, just saying.

'they will experience the full force if the law' - closed for 2 weeks. Wow, the law must be mighty powerful in NT. That 2 weeks will give them time to renovate and put cameras in more inconspicuous locations.
