OPINION:
Even Tim Walz could learn a thing or two about retreat, duck and cover from Vice President Kamala Harris.
Famously, Mr. Walz — the pale, doughy Minnesota governor plucked as Ms. Harris’ running mate — invented a whole new level of dodging when he bailed on his National Guard artillery unit just before it got deployed to Iraq back in 2005.
He claimed he had to jump ship like a rat down the anchor line so that he could run for political office. But of course there are many examples of elected politicians — Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii among them — who faithfully fulfilled their military duties even long after getting elected to political office.
What is particularly odious about Mr. Walz is that after leaving his unit, he proceeded to build his political career around the military service he left for his abandoned troops to fulfill. And then lied about it, including claiming combat experience he didn’t have and a rank he did not earn.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan issued a subpoena to the company that employs the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan — who oversees former President Donald Trump’s business record case.
Judge Merchan’s daughter, Loren Merchan, is an employee of Authentic Campaigns, which does political work and raises funds for Democratic politicians, including Vice President Kamala Harris when she ran for the Democratic nomination in 2020.
Mr. Jordan, Ohio Republican, sent a letter Wednesday to Michael Nellis, the CEO of Authentic Campaigns, asking for information about possible communications between the company and Judge Merchan. The congressman also wants Mr. Nellis to sit for a deposition and for a sworn affidavit that the company looked for any communications regarding Mr. Trump’s New York trial.
“If Authentic Campaigns indeed has no responsive records for the other requests made by the committee on Aug. 1, as you have asserted, the committee requests a sworn certification under the penalty of perjury that Authentic Campaigns made a reasonable, diligent and good faith search for responsive documents and was unable to locate any responsive documents,” Mr. Jordan wrote.

Special counsel Jack Smith, by bringing a superseding indictment against former President Donald Trump in his Jan. 6 case, is committing election interference by timing his action so close to the opening of early voting, Trump attorney Will Scharf, argued on Newsmax on Thursday.
"It is binding DOJ policy and has been for decades that you don't bring an indictment, you don't commit any overt investigative act within 60 days of a presidential election or any election, for that matter," Scharf said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America."
As of Thursday, the Nov. 5 election remains 68 days away, but Scharf said that Trump pointed out on his Truth Social account that "we have early voting starting within the next week or two."
"The idea that Jack Smith would be rushing this superseding indictment through a grand jury at this time shows what we've been saying all along, which is that this entire campaign of lawfare is just about election interference," he said. "What's at issue here is the fact that the Supreme Court absolutely gutted Jack Smith's case with its presidential immunity decision that came down on July 1, and he's now desperate to rescue it."
Scharf said he has reviewed the indictment. Smith's changes include removing a section dealing with Trump's interactions with the Justice Department, which the Supreme Court ruled were protected by presidential immunity.
Scharf said the new indictment still has "massive issues" that will be challenged.
"There's still a ton of presidential immune acts and evidence included in that indictment," he said. "I don't think this will stand. I think President Trump is going to have the ability to run for president as he deserves undisturbed, to the extent possible by this entire campaign of lawfare."
Scharf said he "figured" Smith would try to rescue his D.C. case, as he "invested so much into it to see it get just destroyed by the Supreme Court."
However, he said it is "absurd" that the special counsel would try to rush a superseding indictment through a grand jury before the election.
"Speaking as a former federal prosecutor, this isn't how you're trained to behave," Scharf said. "This isn't how you're trained to act. Jack Smith is a rogue prosecutor, and I think he needs to be called out for that."
He added that the cases that have been filed against Trump are "baseless" as he has done nothing wrong.

American adversaries are set to make their moves during the current situation in which the U.S. is leaderless, former Deputy National Security Adviser KT McFarland told Newsmax on Wednesday.
Appearing on "Wake Up America," McFarland said enemies of the U.S. "are going to make their move now, because they know they will never be held accountable for anything and they also worry that if Donald Trump comes in January 2025, the new sheriff will be back in town and be very tough."
She gave as an example that Russian President Vladimir Putin is getting ready to escalate the war against Ukraine, "because he can get away with it."
This also comes at a time where the Biden-Harris administration doesn't "want to talk about anything unpleasant," such as the fact that there are still American hostages being held by Hamas, just as they don't want to discuss the ramifications of the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, including the 13 American servicemen killed.

Recently revealed documents show that the current deputy campaign manager for Vice President Kamala Harris was formally the point person in the Biden White House who directed the digital censorship of conservative opposition.
It was reported Tuesday that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had admitted to pressure from the Biden administration to censor posts the government found objectionable.
"In 2021, senior officials from the Biden administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain Covid-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn't agree," Zuckerberg wrote in a letter to Jim Jordan, head of the House of Representatives judiciary committee. "I believe the government pressure was wrong."
Rob Flaherty, now serving as a chief operative in Harris' presidential campaign, was previously the director of digital strategy in the White House under President Joe Biden. A document dated April, 14, 2021 from Flaherty to a redacted name at Facebook reveals a subject entitled "tucker", in reference to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The confidential letter reads: "Since we've been on the phone – the top post about vaccines today is tucker Carlson saying they don't work. Yesterday was Tomi Lehren [Lahren] saying she won't take one. This is exactly why I want to know what "Reduction" actually looks like – if "reduction "mean "pumping our most vaccine hesitant audience with tucker Carlson saying it doesn't work" then…I'm not sure it's reduction."
Responding to the mounting evidence that Big Tech has worked in conjunction with the Biden administration to censor dissenting voices, former President Donald Trump responded, "IT'S ALWAYS FAKE WITH KAMALA. WE'RE DOMINATING HER ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SO SHE MAKES UP A FAKE LIST OF HER NUMBERS VERSUS MY NUMBERS. ALL OF OUR ENGAGEMENT IS REAL AND ORGANIC, WHILE KAMALA HAS TO PAY FOR HER FAKE ENGAGEMENT."
Trump's running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, wrote: "This is a massive story. Kamala Harris's administration encouraged Facebook to censor information about Donald Trump. President Trump will fight for your ability to speak your mind. Kamala Harris would rather shut you up than persuade you. Some leader."

Former President Donald Trump did not mince words when discussing the assassination attempt on his life, saying that much of the blame for that day can be placed at the feet of his political opponents.
Speaking to Dr. Phil McGraw on Tuesday, Trump spoke in depth about the moment that nearly took his life in Butler, Pennsylvania. On July 13, Thomas Crooks, 20, fired eight shots at Trump during a campaign rally.
Corey Comperatore, 50, was shot and killed as he attempted to shield his wife and daughters from the gunfire. James Copenhaver, 74, and David Dutch, a 57-year-old Marine veteran, were critically injured.
While the incident has been under investigation for several weeks, many have questioned how Crooks could slip through multiple layers of security to get a clean shot at Trump. The former president suggested some of the blame should be directed not at the agents on the ground but toward the rhetoric of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
"People would ask, Whose fault is it? I think to a certain extent it's Biden's fault and Harris' fault," Trump said, noting that the Democrats consistently label him a "threat to democracy."
"And I'm the opponent," Trump added. "Look, they were weaponizing government against me. They brought in the whole DOJ to try and get me. They weren't too interested in my health and safety."

Corey Comperatore, 50, was shot and killed as he attempted to shield his wife and daughters from the gunfire. James Copenhaver, 74, and David Dutch, a 57-year-old Marine veteran, were critically injured.
While the incident has been under investigation for several weeks, many have questioned how Crooks could slip through multiple layers of security to get a clean shot at Trump. The former president suggested some of the blame should be directed not at the agents on the ground but toward the rhetoric of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
"People would ask, Whose fault is it? I think to a certain extent it's Biden's fault and Harris' fault," Trump said, noting that the Democrats consistently label him a "threat to democracy."
"And I'm the opponent," Trump added. "Look, they were weaponizing government against me. They brought in the whole DOJ to try and get me. They weren't too interested in my health and safety."

When President Trump reestablished the National Space Council — JFK was the originator — we had a clear, bold vision: America was going back to the Moon, heading to Mars and seeking to ensure American economic and military dominance in space. By the end of Trump’s term, the U.S. Space Force was up and running, the Artemis manned mission to the moon was on track and our commercial partnerships were flourishing.
Today, as Chair of the National Space Council, Vice President Kamala Harris has destroyed everything the Trump administration built. The Boeing Starliner debacle is but the tip of Kamala’s iceberg.
Because of this debacle, two astronauts who headed out on a short mission to the International Space Station (ISS) won’t return until February 2025. Even then, they will have to hitch a ride on an Elon Musk SpaceX capsule instead of the star-crossed Starliner.
As Space Council head, Kamala must shoulder a good share of the blame. During the Trump administration, Boeing and other commercial partners knew damn well there was a leadership team in place that wouldn’t tolerate these kinds of delays and missteps. With Chairman Kamala, the wheels and rockets have come off — there’s no accountability, no urgency, no plan.
To understand Kamala’s share of the Starliner blame, just take a look under the hood of the National Space Council itself. Under Trump, we had eight major meetings —all public, substantive and with real Q&A. The Space Council wasn’t just going through the motions; we were making policy.

Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andy McCarthy said Wednesday that special counsel Jack Smith’s superseding indictment of former President Donald Trump will do little to accelerate his election interference case.
The Tuesday indictment includes the same four conspiracy and obstruction charges as the original, and it was submitted in response to Supreme Court’s July ruling finding presidents are immune from prosecution for official acts they take during their presidency. McCarthy, on “Cavuto: Coast to Coast,” said regardless of how Judge Tanya Chutkan rules on the superseding indictment, Trump has the right to appeal it, which will delay the case well past the election. Kamala Harris must be getting a little desperate at this point.
She finally got pressured into doing an interview with a friendly network, something that should be a normal thing, yet she avoided it for weeks. But she has to bring along her "emotional support Governor," Tim Walz, to help her out. That's pretty lame and, as CNN's Scott Jennings termed it, "weak sauce."
Harris is going to be pressed more and more going forward to put her positions out there and to sound competent. But meanwhile, she's trying to get by on vibes and unicorns, it seems. Plus, some theft of policies from former President Donald Trump.

Kamala Harris is part radical leftist, part economically illiterate. Although, I suppose that is redundant.
Both she and Joe Biden seem to think the role of the government is to open up the taxpayers's coffers and use the money in giveaways to buy votes. They don't seem to understand that it's the overspending that helped to kick off the inflation that has been crushing people. So, they keep proposing things that will only make things worse.
One thing we've already seen is her proposal for Communistic price controls. Even the Washington Post called that out as a terrible move that would harm the economy. Her proposal got so savaged, her staff has already tried to walk that back. How many flip-flops would that be now? Who knows what her official positions are at this point?
