Rep. Donalds to Newsmax: GOP Midterm Convention About Turning Out Voters

This week's first-ever Republican midterm convention in Dallas should focus on turning President Donald Trump's agenda into voter turnout and reminding Americans what is at stake in November, Rep. Byron Donalds said Tuesday on Newsmax.
Donalds, the Republican nominee for Florida governor, told Newsmax's "Wake Up America" that the two-day gathering gives Republicans an opportunity to highlight their policies and make the case for keeping the party in power.
"It's about making sure that the American people, number one, look at all the policy we've been able to get done," Donalds said, pointing to tax policy and border security among the issues Republicans plan to emphasize.
The Republican National Committee is holding the midterm convention Wednesday and Thursday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Trump is scheduled to speak both days, while Vice President JD Vance and dozens of Republican lawmakers, administration officials and candidates are also expected to participate.
Donalds said Republicans also need to contrast their record with that of Democrats and former President Joe Biden.
