In the Englandof 1763, King George III, increasingly worried about stability in the colonies, deployed 10,000 red coat soldiers to North America, followed by many more, to assert control.
The "ungrateful colonists" were costing the British crown treasure it never planned to expend.
Imagine if the not-so-good-king possessed the technologies we have today, to enforce his will upon a colonized people?
At a fraction of the cost, upstart cities would have a camera on every street corner: complete with facial, voice, and fingerprint recognition software.
These cameras could collect data via infrared heat detection, sending collected information back to a command center, so profiles of those observed could be created — and stored permanently. Retained with no chance of ever being subjected to a court order, to see what information is contained therein.

Rep. Biggs to Newsmax: DirecTV Hearings Likely in 3-4 Weeks

Rep. Andy Biggs said Monday on Newsmax that the House Oversight Committee's hearings to investigate AT&T/DirecTV's deplatforming of Newsmax could happen within three to four weeks.
"I'm not the chairman, so I don't know when, but I believe they're probably going to happen within three or four weeks," the Arizona Republican said on Newsmax's Prime News on Monday night. "We're trying to fit everything in and get everybody together on the same page time-wise when other things have been scheduled, so I do believe it's going to happen sooner than later."
AT&T's DirecTV cut Newsmax's signal on Jan. 24, blocking the network from more than 13 million subscribers of the satellite service, DirecTV Stream, and U-Verse. Newsmax is America's fourth highest-rated news network in the cable landscape and a top-20 overall channel that reaches 25 million Americans weekly, according to Nielsen.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill will unveil bipartisan legislation Wednesday to bolster security relations with Taiwan, proposing a lend-lease agreement that would allow the U.S. to more rapidly arm Taipei with weapons ahead of a possible invasion by China.
The bipartisan and bicameral bill, previewed first by The Washington Times, would authorize the Biden administration to lend or lease weapons to Taiwan with a clear message to Chinese President Xi: Do not dare attack Taiwan.
“There is no doubt that the [Chinese Communist Party] is the greatest threat to global stability and America’s national security,” said Rep. Michelle Steel of California, the measure’s Republican co-author. “As they continue to threaten Taiwan and openly challenge the United States, it is more important than ever that we take immediate and decisive action to deter further aggression against our allies.”
