Jim Jordan Demands Answers from Mayor Bowser on Violent DC Protests

House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) joined his counterpart at the House Oversight Committee James Comer in penning an urgent letter to D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser to get the city under control.
"You must restore order and peace to the District before the left-wing violent extremism gets further out of hand," they write.
The lawmakers reminded Bowser of a few of the most recent incidents in the nation's capital. Protesters harassed outdoor diners in downtown D.C. They were simply trying to enjoy their meals, but the mob accused them of enjoying "white privilege." Then, on August 27, following President Trump's RNC speech at the White House, Black Lives Matter protesters showed up to harass participants trying to walk home. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), one of the victims in the altercation, says the scene was "horrific" and he doesn't know what would have happened to him and his wife Kelley if the D.C. police hadn't been there.
Jordan and Comer used these examples to show Bowser that she needs to take this situation seriously.

“Say No to the Mob” doubles down on the GOP’s attacks on Democrats’ complicity with lawlessness, violent demonstrations and rioting in cities nationwide. It shows high-ranking Democrat leaders, including Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and others encouraging violent unrest.

US politician Nancy Pelosi regularly reminds Americans is to wear face masks and follow health guidelines, but it appears the most powerful elected Democrat has gone against her own advice.
Security footage obtained by Fox News showed the Speaker of the House of Representatives having her hair done inside a salon in San Francisco on Monday.
The only problem was, she wasn’t wearing a mask, breaking the city’s coronavirus-prevention rules.
And it gets worse for Pelosi as hair salons in San Francisco have been closed by law since March.

Conservatives also took to social media, casting Pelosi as a hypocrite.
“Do as I say, not as I do,” White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany tweeted.
Senate Republicans also tweeted, saying, “Speaker Pelosi has pushed policies that would keep our economy closed and our small businesses shut down. But for herself? A salon visit whenever she pleases.”

In June Pelosi said a federal mandate on mask wearing was ‘”long overdue” having previously cited US Centers for Disease Control guidelines recommending that Americans wear face masks in public, especially when physical distancing measures are difficult.
I care. She wants a mandatory mask policy for me and my family, but does not practice anything she says in her daily life.

Under the guise of First Amendment free speech and combatting racism, the cancel culture mob has torn down statues, banned books, chastised kids’ cartoons and deemed several food items bigoted. Even daytime doyenne Ellen DeGeneres has not escaped the wrath of the left. This outraged activism has done little more than create confusion around maple syrup.
If impactful social change was the ultimate goal, the Chrissy Teigens and Lebron James’ of the celebrity Twittersphere would stop their virtue signaling over things like Goya Beans and start speaking out against the atrocities of Communist China.

Enslaving the Uyghurs, spying on Americans, preventing democracy in Hong Kong, stealing intellectual property, polluting the earth, spreading COVID. Communist China does it all. Yet, they are rewarded from every angle on an international stage. They win coveted and lucrative contracts, like the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympic Games in 2022. They are praised and supported by every alphabetic initial and acronym, from the WHO, UN and NATO. It is not that the left is blind to the evils of China, it is that the world of leftist cancel culture selectively turns a blind eye because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

The left has gone so far that they care more about cancelling toys and fiction movies than they do actual lives; lives who are plagued with real oppression, real slavery, real lack of freedom. The cancel movement is more about the illusion of caring about slavery than confronting actual slavery. On computer screens, they shout concerns of social justice, but in all reality, they are just cowards with keyboards.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi get her hair styled at a shuttered San Francisco salon this week that was supposed to be closed under the city’s coronavirus rules — and she didn’t wear a mask.
Fox News obtained security video of Mrs. Pelosi in the salon, and the owner told the network she was appalled at the top Democrat in the country, calling it a “slap in the face.”
Erica Kious told Fox that an independent stylist she rents a chair to in the salon told her Mrs. Pelosi’s folks had said they were coming in. Ms. Kious said she wasn’t sure what to do, but figured she couldn’t control the actions of the contract stylist.

ABU DHABI—Israel and the United Arab Emirates agreed to promote bilateral trade and business activity as they move to normalize ties, but pushed discussion over the thorny issue of the sale of advanced U.S. military hardware to the Emiratis to a later stage.
A delegation of top Israeli and American officials was in the U.A.E. capital for a two-day visit to discuss areas of collaboration after a historic U.S.-brokered diplomatic breakthrough between the two countries last month.
On Tuesday, they signed a deal to create a joint committee to establish cooperation on various fronts—from financial services and joint investments to combating terror financing and money laundering. That came after delegations from both sides stayed up overnight to put the finishing touches on the agreement.

Mass vote-by-mail really does invite fraud — we need to guard against it

Voting fraud, especially via mail-in ballots, is a cinch to pull off, warns a top Democratic operative, who’s done it repeatedly. Yet voting by mail will be a huge part of the November election. Which is why officials need to plug the holes now.
Fixing ballots “is a real thing” and plenty common, says the insider in Jon Levine’s eye-opener in Sunday’s Post. States, he pleads, need to address major security gaps to protect the November election.
Indeed, as few as 500 or 1,000 votes can be enough “to flip” entire states, notes the source, who (as The Post confirmed) has worked in numerous legislative, mayoral and congressional races across the tri-state area. Among the scams he describes:
* Postmen or others simply discard ballot-stuffed envelopes from areas that lean heavily toward a candidate they oppose.
* Operatives offer to mail completed ballots for voters, then steam open the envelopes and switch in their own ballots.
* Insiders “help” the elderly by filling out ballots for them. In some nursing homes, “the nurse is actually paid” to do that.
* Voters are flat-out bribed.

Joe Biden had a good thing going. In a rare adventure outside his basement, he was giving a speech in Pittsburgh that contained some fine passages about national unity mixed with blistering attacks on the president. Most important, he had — finally — crossed the Rubicon in condemning the crime and violence plaguing the nation’s urban areas.
“Rioting is not protesting. Looting is not protesting. Setting fires is not protesting. None of this is protesting,” he declared. “It’s lawlessness, plain and simple. And those who do it should be prosecuted.”
It was good medicine for a violent-sick nation because after weeks of virtual silence on the issue and then timid criticism, the Democrats’ nominee had found sufficient courage to at least state the obvious.

Lest there be any doubt about where he stood regarding the frightening events in Portland, Seattle and other places, Biden even asked: “Do I look like a radical socialist with a soft spot for rioters? Really?”
Before Tuesday, the answer was, well, now that you’ve mentioned it, yes, you do.
So had Biden stopped with his condemnation, it would have been progress enough for one day. He had left the basement and done what he had to do.
But foolishness followed when he unveiled an approach that smells like an audition for yet a new argument. Make that another weak, inane argument.

Apparently the rioters, arsonists and common criminals were all good little boys and girls in the pre-Trump era and their assault against America just demonstrates that they, too, are casualties of the president’s toxic being.
The idea is so fatuous, so idiotic that it only adds to the concerns about Biden’s well-being. On top of all his other health maladies, he, too, seems to be suffering from a serious bout of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Even a mask can’t help him with that.

India has accused China of “provocative military movements” in the Himalayas as both sides race to assemble forces before the onset of winter. But the real cause may be behind Chinese lines.
New Delhi is believed to have rushed 800 troops to the Indian side of Pangong Tso Lake, some 4200m above sea level, in response to incursions by Beijing’s forces.
“Indian troops pre-empted this PLA activity on the southern bank of Pangong Tso Lake, undertook measures to strengthen our positions and thwart Chinese intentions to unilaterally change facts on the ground,” an Indian Army statement asserts.
The lake forms part of the boundary between India and occupied Tibet, which was invaded by overwhelming Chinese forces in 1950. It’s leader, the Dalai Lama, has been in enforced exile ever since.
