New fundraiser collection showcases on-the-ground analysis and insight

“Tsunami: Japan’s Post-Fukushima Future” contains some of the strongest coverage we’ve seen so far.
Since the March 11 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis, there’s been no shortage of high-quality reporting on the aftermath, much of it by overseas media.
To the dismay of many, however, sensationalist, ill-judged coverage held sway in the early days. Now, almost four months on, there’s a clear window for a collection of some of the best new coverage to shine through.
It’s a task taken on with obvious insight in a new book from “Foreign Policy” magazine -- “Tsunami: Japan’s Post-Fukushima Future.”
Edited by Temple University’s Jeff Kingston, the volume “showcases some of Japan’s leading writers and thinkers.”
New reality
With the subtitle, “Essays on the many aftershocks of Japan’s nuclear nightmare,” the hard-hitting material paints a stark picture of the new realities facing Japan.
It contains analysis from the likes of Financial Times Asia-Pacific editor David Pilling, former Economist editor Bill Emmott, best-selling author Robert Whiting and CNNGo contributor David McNeill.
Kingston tells us what drove him to put the collection together. “My wife's relatives are from Iwate and we spent our honeymoon on the Sanriku coast in 1982,” he explains.
Best analysis
“After seeing the destruction and grim conditions, I decided to call on my network of Japan hands to share their experiences and insights to raise both money and awareness.
“The contributors did us proud and this is the best available analysis of what happened and what it portends,” says Kingston.
All proceeds go to relief efforts via the Japan Society and there are two ways to buy “Tsunami.” The Kindle edition costs $6.99 and is available on Amazon, while there’s a PDF download available for $4.99 direct from Foreign Policy itself.

Hôm nay đọc bài viết này, conbenho chợt nhớ đến ngày đầu tiên sau khi gởi vào Blog bản tin đầu tiên đã đọc được trên Net về Trận Động Đất khủng khiếp ở Nhật, conbenho đã vào Google tìm thêm những tin khác liên quan, bấm vao một cai link về ""Động Đất ở Nhật" , đã BỊ dẫn vào 1 video "nhạc trẻ của VN", các anh chị có hình dung ra tâm trạng của conbenho lúc đó ra sao không ???
conbenho không quơ đủa cả nắm, nhưng mong rằng những kẻ cố tình quảng cáo cho nhạc của họ để tìm danh kiếm tiếng hay kiếm lợi, kiếm tiền .. hãy nên ý thức hành động đó thể hiện bản chất của những kẻ vô giáo dục, và thật đau lòng vô cùng khi những người vô giáo dục đó lại là "người VN".
Thật là xấu hổ cho những người tuổi trẻ VN này, đã trở thành vô nhân tính, dưới sự cầm quyền của cái đảng chủ trương đưa dân tộc VN xuống hàng chó ngựa là bè lũ Việt gian phản quốc BÁN NƯỚC vô lọai csVN mà người Nhật đã từng gọi chúng là "bọn giòi bọ" .
