Two men arrested over alleged beheading plot
Two men have been arrested over an alleged public beheading plot.
The arrests followed a police operation in Fairfield yesterday, police said. A knife, flag and other items were also seized.
The men are due to appear in Fairfield Local Court this morning.

No further information about charges have been released at this stage.
Sources have told 7News Sydney the plot was foiled after the men were reported for buying a 'big' knife at Sydney fishing shop.
It is unknown whether these arrests are connected to a plot to behead someone in Martin Place, discovered in police raids last year.
The previous alleged plot was believed to involve abducting a person at random in Martin Place and beheading them in a public place, and posting the filmed act on social media.
The Australian Federal Police and New South Wales Police are expected to make a statement this morning.
