House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan sent a final warning letter Friday to the lawyer of Michael Nellis, the CEO of a political consulting firm that employs the daughter of New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who is overseeing former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial.

The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the letter, which comes after Jordan sent a subpoena to Nellis in late August, after he failed to comply with the committee and their inquiries regarding any potential cooperation between Nellis’s firm and those trying to prosecute Trump. The judge’s daughter, Loren Merchan, is the president of Authentic Campaigns, which represents Democrats such as Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff, who was the head of Trump’s first impeachment trial. Jordan has also pointed out that the firm has received $9 million from Democrat campaigns. That includes $2 million from the Biden-Harris campaign in 2020.

“On August 28, 2024, the Committee on the Judiciary issued your client, Michael Nellis, a subpoena for two categories of documents relating to the Committee’s oversight of the Manhattan District Attorney’s political prosecution of President Trump. On the subpoena’s return date, September 13, 2024, you sent a letter on Mr. Nellis’s behalf outlining your objections to the subpoena,” Jordan wrote in the letter.

In that August letter, Jordan called for Nellis to sit down for a deposition and also sign a sworn affidavit saying that the firm has had no communication with Judge Merchan. Nellis has since called Jordan’s investigation “absurd and completely false.”

“However, this has not stopped MAGA world conspiracy theorists from harassing our employees and sending death threats to some of our families,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, in this new letter to Nellis, Jordan explains that the committee is entitled to subpoena for the relevant information and does not violate the first amendment.

“These objections mirror concerns that your client has raised, and the Committee has addressed, in previous correspondence. The objections to the subpoena are unfounded and unpersuasive, and do not excuse your client’s noncompliance with the subpoena. The Committee writes to overrule your objections and to provide Mr. Nellis a final opportunity to comply with the subpoena,” he continued. Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) grilled Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz over claims that FBI informants were among the crowd on January 6, 2021.

Horowitz was questioned about his report, which has taken nearly four years and won’t be released before the election, before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

The report will include the number of FBI informants who participated in the J6 protest, which Horowitz claimed he had “not made such finding.”

However, he did not deny it either.

“Do you have evidence of the number of confidential human sources that were operating on the Capitol grounds on Jan. 6?" Massie asked.

“Our report will include the information in that regard," Horowitz replied.

Massie continued to grill Horowitz, asking him if there were more than 100 undercover officials among the crowd, which Horowitz refused to answer.

“I’m not in a position to say that, both because it is in draft form and we have not gone through the classification review," Horowitz said. "And so I need to be careful."

It was also revealed that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) declined to dispatch former President Donald Trump’s request for at least 10,000 National Guard troops to ensure that D.C. was safe and secure on J6.

North Carolina pulls 747,000 people off of voter registration rolls

The North Carolina State Board of Elections has removed over 747,000 people from its list of registered voters with less than six weeks until Election Day.

The records were purged from the state’s voter registration rolls over the past 20 months, according to an NCSBE press release published Thursday.

“The county boards follow careful policies to ensure that only ineligible records are removed, not those of eligible voters,” the release reads.

Three of the top reasons for removal were that the voter was determined to have been deceased, had duplicate registrations due to moving within the state, or had garnered an “inactive status” from election officials after failing to participate in two federal elections.

Republican Sen. Eric Schmitt of Missouri addressed a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland Thursday demanding that the Department of Justice (DOJ) hand over internal communications with special counsel Jack Smith regarding his latest superseding indictment of the former president.

Schmitt criticized Smith’s indictment in the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump as well as the DOJ’s renewed interest in the “Russian election interference bogeyman” as evidence of political weaponization, according to the letter. Schmitt is urging Garland to provide relevant information regarding Smith’s latest superseding indictment on the Trump 2020 election case, as well as the DOJ’s most recent indictments against Russian nationals. “I write to express my disappointment with two political decisions by the Department of Justice in recent weeks,” the letter states. “These decisions do not seem thought out and threaten to continue to turn the DOJ into a ‘political weapon.'”

“Yet, the DOJ is blatantly ignoring norms and for the first time in our nation’s history prosecuting its political opponents—not only while votes are being cast but also with a constitutionally suspect prosecutor,” the letter continues.

A local police officer missed when he shot at would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks during the sniper’s attack on former President Donald Trump on July 13, according to testimony from the medical examiner.

Ariel Goldschmidt, Allegheny County medical examiner, on Thursday told a bipartisan House task force investigating the assassination attempt that his examination of Crooks found one bullet fragment and related wound that came from a single shot to the head.

Dr. Goldschmidt conducted his autopsy of Crooks on July 14, the day after the shooting, and determined he died from “a high-velocity gunshot wound to the head with an entrance wound of the left upper lip.”

That shot, according to the FBI, came from a Secret Service countersniper.

Before the Secret Service sniper’s kill shot, a local tactical officer working under the Butler County Emergency Services unit fired a single round at Crooks, who was on the roof of a nearby building, from the ground below.

The FBI has confirmed that the shot occurred, but has said no forensic evidence shows it hit Crooks or his rifle.

A study has found that Google is hiding former President Trump’s campaign website under stories written by liberal news outlets while searches of Vice President Kamala Harris display flattering results and her campaign website more prominently.

The Media Research Center, a conservative watchdog group, analyzed searches for both candidates on Sept. 6 and found “Donald Trump presidential race 2024” produced negative news from liberal media outlets at the top of the search results. Mr. Trump’s campaign website appeared sixth in results, underneath stories from The New York Times, Politico and The Washington Post.

Ms. Harris’ campaign website was much easier to find, the MRC study discovered. It showed up much higher in the Google search, and nearly all the news stories above it were favorable and written by left-leaning outlets.

Dan Schneider, vice president of the Media Research Center’s Free Speech America program, said the search engine previously made it even more difficult to find Mr. Trump’s campaign website but has shifted tactics and is now placing it below liberal news reports about the former president, which tend to be negative.

“The big difference now is that Google puts a series of newspaper articles above search results, and for Donald Trump, all those newspaper articles, or media articles, are from left-wing outlets, and all those stories are harsh about Donald Trump,” Mr. Schneider said. “All the articles that Google produces above Kamala Harris’ website are puff pieces about her.”

Google did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the MRC study. The company told Fox News that the study “looked at a single, rare search term, on a single day, several weeks ago, and even for that search, both candidates’ websites ranked in the top results on Google.”

For years, the tech giant has been accused of favoring Democrats over Republicans, and critics point to employee campaign donations to support their claims.

According to the data company Quiver Quantitative, Google ranked first among the top 20 donors to the Harris campaign as of September, spending $1.46 million on her bid. Microsoft ranked second in Harris donations, spending $743,045 on her campaign. Neither Google nor Microsoft appears on the list of top 20 donors to the Trump campaign.

Nothing about this Democratic ticket is real. Nothing.

Vice President Kamala Harris did not win any Democratic presidential primary. Yet she is the Democratic Party’s nominee.

At no point in her political career has Ms. Harris earned a single vote from a single Democratic voter to be president. When she ran for the 2020 Democratic nomination, voters in her party found her so unserious and insufferable that her campaign crashed and burned before the first primary.

Everything about her career and record seems to be a lie.

She was the elected prosecutor in San Francisco and later for the state of California. Yet there is no evidence that she actually tried any cases in a courtroom. Indeed, her inability to handle a simple news conference with adversarial reporters asking basic questions suggests there is a reason she stayed out of the courtroom.

Yet the backbone of her campaign is that she was a prosecutor. This is her supposed proof that she will be tough on crime, even though she helped raise money to get rioters out of jail so they could do some more burning and looting during the George Floyd riots.

In 1980, the Boston Globe put a place-holding headline on an editorial about a speech by President Jimmy Carter.

“Mush from the wimp,” the headline read — and it appeared in more than 150,000 copies of the paper before editors caught their error and removed it.

I thought about that headline as I watched Joe Biden’s UN speech Tuesday.

The similarities go far beyond another mushy speech from another wimpy president.

Biden now rivals Carter as the worst American president of the modern era — and maybe of all time.

Both men were one-term Democrats felled by inflation and disorder at home.

On the global stage, they pursued policies that too often treated American power as a problem rather than a solution, and were rewarded with mayhem and murderous aggression.

There are differences, too, with Carter constrained by his faith-based moral imperatives, while Biden’s family got rich by selling his name to foreigners, some of them adversaries.

A global offensive has been launched to strangle digital speech. The censors aren’t Chinese Communists or Iranian theocrats but members in good standing of the progressive elite class in democratic countries.

To save democracy, the elites claim, they must reduce to a minimum the public’s access to information and communication. Because ordinary people are easily duped by the truth-telling guardians, superior to this weakness, must control and detoxify the flow of digital content.

I won’t pretend to be shocked by this surge of oppression, which merely expands the scope and intensity of a process that has been accelerating for some time.

Thanks to Twitter Files, we know the Biden-Harris administration erected an elaborate digital censorship apparatus that silenced disfavored individuals like Donald Trump and took down millions of offending posts.

Thanks to Mark Zuckerberg’s recent letter to Congress, we know that, starting in 2021, the Biden White House pressured him successfully “to censor certain Covid-19 content, including humor and satire” on Facebook.

To begin with, however, the trampling on the First Amendment was perpetrated surreptitiously, as if with a bad conscience, betraying at least the pretense of a sense of shame.

The Secret Service and FBI are continuing to "stonewall and slow walk" the congressional investigation into the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, including on his would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, Sen. Ron Johnson told Newsmax on Thursday.

"We already knew that this was a spectacular failure by the U.S. Secret Service," the Wisconsin Republican said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America," while commenting on the Senate's report that the shooting on July 13 was preventable.

"What information we have, people need to understand, has primarily come from local law enforcement, from body cams, from audio and visual, from the public," he added.

Federal officials, though are "holding their information very close to their vest, so people first need to understand that," the senator said.

Johnson said his staff reached out to local law enforcement officials within the first week after the shootings and issued preliminary findings, with the Senate report putting "meat on those bones."

For example, the report revealed that a second sniper team had an obstructed view and couldn't see would-be assassin Crooks, and he couldn't see them.

"Those two snipers believe a bullet whizzed between them, and we've only been able to interview one of them, but his testimony is pretty compelling," said Johnson. "That opens up all kinds of questions. How did a bullet fly from Crooks's rifle through a tree and miss those two snipers? I mean, that's pretty bizarre."

Meanwhile, there has been no autopsy or toxicology reports released from Crooks, and Johnson said he's asked FBI deputy Director Paul Abbate several times for the transcripts of more than 1,000 interviews that have been conducted in the agency's probe.

"We've only been able to interview 12 Secret Service personnel," said Johnson. "Primarily, we've had those targeted to the right individuals because my staff talked to local law enforcement and got the names of the agents on the ground. Had we not done that, we wouldn't even know who to talk to, and I would guess that the Secret Service wouldn't be cooperative there."

Johnson also noted that the FBI released Crooks' body to his family for cremation, and said that the Senate will likely have to subpoena autopsy results.

"The FBI said, well, it's standard operating procedure to release the body once we're done with it. Well, this isn't a standard situation," the senator said. "This is an assassination attempt on the former president of the United States. You know, our candidate for president. We shouldn't be following standard protocol. At a minimum, they should have released that autopsy report, the toxicology report for experts to review to see if there are any further questions."

Johnson added that he also wants to see the crime scene photos, which also have not been received.

"I want to get a crime scene expert in to testify to us in terms of how it should have been handled versus how it was handled again," said Johnson.
