The Golden State Discovers Noble Intentions on Don't Teach a Child to Read
There is an old and enduring truth that civilized societies ignore at their peril: evidence has no political affiliation.
It simply exists.
One may debate it, question it, reinterpret it, or seek additional context.
But to pretend it does not exist — particularly when it appears repeatedly and unmistakably — is to embark upon a journey of national self-destruction.
California, blessed with extraordinary natural beauty, staggering wealth, and some of the best-known universities on earth, has spent much of the past decade behaving like a civilization determined to squander its inheritance.
It is a tragedy not because decline is inevitable, but because it is entirely avoidable.
