Rep. Mills to Newsmax: Senate Must 'Get Off Their Butt,' Vote on SAVE America Act

Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., urged Senate Republican leaders Tuesday to delay the chamber's August recess and force a vote on sweeping election legislation, arguing on Newsmax that senators should be required to publicly declare whether they support stricter voter identification requirements.

Mills, a member of the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services committees, criticized the Senate during an interview with "National Report" for failing to advance the SAVE America Act after the House approved the measure earlier this year.

"So the Senate needs to get off their butt and start doing their jobs," Mills said.

He added, "And I think that all the senators who signed up for the no recess in August until we pass the Save America Act, those are the patriots that we need to be getting behind and supporting, and those are the ones we need to be looking at for leadership in the future."

The House passed the bill 218-213 in February, largely along party lines.
