Trump Assassination Attempt Suspect Trial Starting November, Judge Orders
The trial date will start nearly two weeks after the November election.

The man accused of trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump will stand trial in November, a federal judge ordered Tuesday.
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon ordered a trial date for Ryan Routh, 58, for Monday, Nov. 18. It came a day after he pleaded not guilty to five federal charges, including attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate.
Last month, a judge ordered Routh to remain in jail without bond to await trial, citing potential flight risk.
Routh is accused of lying in wait for Trump near one of Trump’s Florida golf courses, armed with an SKS-style rifle, and allegedly leaving behind a note saying he sought to assassinate the former president.
Officials have said that Routh was thwarted in his attempt to assassinate Trump when a U.S. Secret Service agent spotted the barrel of a rifle poking through a fence at the Trump International Golf Club and opened fire on Sept. 15. Routh was arrested after allegedly fleeing the scene.
Initially, Routh was charged in a criminal complaint only with gun-related offenses before prosecutors filed additional charges against him, including the assassination charge.

OPINION:
November’s election presents a clear choice. One side offers a candidate who is a replaceable cog in a party machine. When President Biden sagged in the polls, it wasn’t a problem for the Democratic Party machine.
Party elites merely appointed one of the worst-performing primary contenders to stand in place of the man chosen by the party’s voters. The leaders of the Democratic Party, it turns out, are not as big on democracy as they often claim.
That’s why Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard recently renounced their lifetime association with the Democratic Party — and help the candidate on the other side as a result.
The party that once represented the anti-war left has evolved into a cheerleader for endless foreign conflict. The Biden-Harris administration’s foreign policy choices have poured gasoline on the fire of international strife — to the delight of defense contractors happy to enrich those who help sell more of their bombs and missiles.
The party that once celebrated the burning of U.S. flags in the name of free speech is now sending people to jail for posting funny pictures on the internet. For example, Douglass Mackey is appealing his federal conviction for mocking Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign as the party gleefully uses the power of government to silence anyone with a divergent opinion by calling it “misinformation.”
The machine’s latest candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, is not a particularly charismatic figure. Her speeches lack the eloquence of President Barack Obama or the sincerity of President Jimmy Carter. She has few solid accomplishments, having never earned a paycheck outside of government — aside from her alleged past employment slinging fries at McDonald’s.
This is not what the resume of a presidential aspirant is supposed to look like. Fortunately, there is a better choice, and that choice is former President Donald Trump.

The Department of Homeland Security knows of at least 660,000 illegal immigrants in the U.S. with criminal records, including 13,000 convicted killers, nearly 16,000 sex assault convicts and 56,000 involved with dangerous drugs.
Thousands of other migrants have been charged but not yet convicted of those and other crimes.
They are part of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s “non-detained docket,” a list of more than 7 million illegal immigrants that ICE is supposed to be monitoring as they are awaiting final deportation decisions or, in some cases, are fugitives who are refusing to go.
ICE provided the data to Congress and the House Homeland Security Committee released it Friday, just as Vice President Kamala Harris was to land in Arizona for her first visit to the border in more than three years.
“It may be shocking to hear that the Biden-Harris administration is actively releasing tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens into our communities, but their own numbers conclusively prove this to be the case,” said Rep. Mark Green, committee chairman.
Experts said the criminal records are largely based on activity in the U.S. In many cases, authorities don’t know what criminal behavior migrants have lurking in their background in their home countries.

Leftists are becoming increasingly totalitarian in their antipathy for freedom of speech. It’s an obstacle to their desire for power, so it must be crushed.
An exaggeration, you say?
Just listen to what high-profile leftists have been openly saying about denying you your right to information on both sides of the political equation.
Former presidential candidate and Obama Secretary of State John Kerry has gotten the most attention recently, mainly because of how bluntly he railed against our most fundamental freedom. But former Clinton Secretary of Labor Robert Reich has been just as repressive — and more detailed. And Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been her usual self as she demands censorship without much specificity.
Kerry made his comments at a World Economic Forum panel on green energy on Sept. 25. A conservative comedian trying to satirize the views of the haughty ruling class could not have come up with better material.

Elon Musk warned that the November election could be the “last” in the U.S. if Vice President Kamala Harris wins.
In a post to his nearly 200 million followers, the entrepreneur explained why a vote for former President Trump is the only way to truly save democracy in America.
“[I]f even 1 in 20 illegals become citizens per year, something that the Democrats are expediting as fast as humanly possible, that would be about 2 million new legal voters in 4 years.
The voting margin in the swing states is often less than 20 thousand votes. That means if the “Democratic” Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!!
Moreover, the Biden/Harris administration has been flying “asylum seekers”, who are fast-tracked to citizenship, directly into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Arizona. It is a surefire way to win every election.
America then becomes a one-party state and Democracy is over. The only “elections” will be the Democratic Party primaries. This already happened in California many years ago, following the 1986 amnesty.
The only thing holding California back from extreme socialism and suffocating government policies is that people can leave California and still remain in America.
Once the whole country is controlled by one party, there will be no escape. Everywhere in America will be like the nightmare that is downtown San Francisco.

One thing cannot be denied as we enter the final stages of this election: Donald Trump is polling better than ever. Sure, the race is close. That was always going to be the case, as Trump also animates the Left. Most Democrats might not like Joe Biden, but they’ll turn out to stop Trump. Yet, Gallup also hurled another interesting find into this cycle: more Americans now identify as Republican than Democrats for the first time in decades.
The former president is polling better than ever in the Midwest, with votes trusting him more to handle the economy, crime, and immigration. Yet, the party identification number points to the climate, and it’s red, not blue. Since the ABC News debate, liberals have cited Nate Silver more since he flipped the Electoral College probability.
Yet, Harris isn’t pulling away from Trump within the margins necessary to win. The Trump vote will likely be underestimated again, which is why Democrats are fraught with anxiety. Other questions in this Gallup survey should give liberals pause and boost confidence for Republicans, especially when it comes to the top issues this cycle. The question about which party would do a better job keeping the nation prosperous was rather eye-opening (via Gallup) [emphasis mine]:

If I was in charge, October 7th never happens, Russia/Ukraine never happens, Afghanistan Botched Withdrawal never happens, and Inflation never happens. If I win, we will have peace in the World again. If Kamala gets 4 more years, the World goes up in smoke."

Tens of Thousands of Port Workers Strike; Billions in Trade Expected to Be Impacted

Thousands of union dock and maritime workers are officially on strike—a work stoppage that could significantly disrupt the U.S. economy.
The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), the largest North American union representing 85,000 maritime employees, rejected a counteroffer from the U.S. Maritime Alliance (USMX).
According to USMX officials, the organization representing East and Gulf Coast longshore industry employers, proposed several wage-related offers.
“Our offer would increase wages by nearly 50 percent, triple employer contributions to employee retirement plans, strengthen our health care options, and retain the current language around automation and semi-automation,” the USMX said in a statement hours before the midnight deadline.
The port ownership group noted that it was hopeful that the counteroffers would resume collective bargaining on other outstanding issues to reach an agreement.
Though the submitted proposal matched some of the ILA leadership’s demands, the union rejected the offer.

* Iran launched at least 180 ballistic missiles at Israel, which the regime said was in retaliation to the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
* Most of the missiles intercepted but few areas of central and southern Israel were struck, officials said. U.S. destroyers in the region helped Israel intercept some of the missiles, the Pentagon said.
* Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran "will pay" for the attack.
* Israel has reported no casualties. Palestine confirmed the the death of a civilian in the West Bank town of Jerricho from a projectile.
* White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan said that the attack appeared to have been "defeated and ineffective" and was a "significant escalation" by Iran.
* President Joe Biden said the United States is "fully supportive" of Israel following the attack.
* The attacks were launched a day after Israel began its offensive in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah, a terrorist group backed by Iran. Hezbollah has vowed to continue fighting Israel, in proclaimed solidarity with Gaza, the Palestinians, and the Lebanese people.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said Tuesday he was freed after years of incarceration because he "pled guilty to journalism."
In his first public remarks since he was released from prison in June, Assange gave evidence of the impact of his detention and conviction to the legal affairs and human rights committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France. The Parliamentary Assembly includes lawmakers from 46 European countries.
A group of supporters, holding a banner that said "Thank you, Julian" greeted Assange as he stepped out of a van smiling and raising his fist in defiance along with his wife, Stella, and WikiLeaks editor-in-chief, Kristinn Hrafnsson.
"Assange is free! We are here. The world is with you," one supporter shouted before Assange entered the Council of Europe building early Tuesday.
"I am not free today because the system worked," Assange said. "I am free today after years of incarceration because I pled guilty to journalism."
