Thousands of protesters chant and storm streets for ‘freedom rallies’
Thousands of anti-Covid restriction protesters have hit the streets in Melbourne and Sydney, as authorities fear of a violent clash with a counter rally.

Tens of thousands of anti-vaccine mandate and Covid rule protesters have descended across Australia as the authorities prepare for the possibility of a clash with a counter rally later today.
A series of “freedom rallies” planned for Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Hobart began at 12pm on Saturday with massive crowds taking to the streets.

In Melbourne, anti-vaccine mandate demonstrators waving Australian flags and “kill the bill” placards marched down Bourke St into the city while chanting.
Meanwhile, anti-fascist protesters converged on the Eight Hour Day Monument after demonstrates vowed to counter protest the so-called “freedom rallies”.

Meanwhile protests in Sydney gathered with Australian flags and signs at Hyde Park in Sydney to protest vaccine mandates and previous lockdown restrictions. Demonstrators could be seen chanting “freedom” before joining together to sing the national anthem.
