'This Is a Real War': Gingrich on How Trump Should Combat Media 'Falsehoods'

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) told Neil Cavuto that President Trump should approach dealing with the mainstream media as if it was "a real war."
"The people on the other side: demonstrators or college professors or [the media] ... they are the other team," Gingrich said.

He noted the extensive criticism of Trump's speech at CPAC in Prince Georges County, Maryland, where the president devoted much of his time to addressing media inaccuracies.
Gingrich said one way to combat unfair reporting is to have Press Secretary Sean Spicer call on more Skype journalists and local reporters, rather than the old-guard mainstream media.
"The New York Times' continual misrepresentation of fact just borders on propaganda of the worst kind," he said. "If you're engaged in absolute falsehood, you don't get to play."
Gingrich said that if the White House finds that a specific reporter has intentionally reported falsely, it is not inappropriate for them to request that news agency send a different reporter.
"You don't have to pretend somebody is a serious reporter if they're just a propagandist," he said.
