Japanese Women Look to Speed Up ‘Mommy Track’ at Work
Companies are looking to help female employees who worry motherhood will slow their careers

TOKYO—Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s push to get more women in the workplace has prompted Japan’s big companies to introduce more generous maternity leave and shorter hours for those with young children.
Now, some employers are looking to also support women who find the “mommy track” too slow, as another way to keep their best employees in a tightening labor market.
