New Year's Eve: Fireworks fill the sky in Sydney to welcome 2017

Flaming starbursts and raining firecrackers have filled the sky above Sydney Harbour as the city welcomes 2017.
More than a million people are squeezed along Sydney's foreshore to watch the pyrotechnic display.
The 9pm display was met with shrieks of delight as the exploding firecrackers burst over Sydney Opera House and the harbour, while a shower of firecrackers rained down from the Harbour Bridge.
