Spain’s Immigration Collapse: How Open Borders Invited Morocco’s Invasion

Spain is, to put it bluntly, hosed. And it's the fault of years of increasingly feckless, overly permissive, and honestly, chicken-brained immigration policy.
In the closing days of July we witnessed with horror the invasion of the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla on the northern African coast, near the Strait of Gibraltar. Thousands of Moroccans, many rumored to have been released from prisons and driven to the coast, invaded these small enclaves. These weren't families looking for a better life. They were, almost universally, young, unattached, healthy military-aged males. This wasn't a mass immigration; it was an invasion, pure and simple. At least 67 people are dead, as of this writing. The invaders crashed into Spanish homes, and assaulted the Spanish residents of the enclaves.
