In the Democratic presidential primary, several candidates have tried to position themselves as the most authentic progressive in the race by offering bold solutions and speaking out about the legacy of racism and injustice. We have also seen a handful of candidates offer themselves as pragmatic moderates who understand the complexity of domestic and foreign affairs—and how to get things accomplished on the world stage.
