Trump Co-Defendant Pokes Holes In Fani Willis’ Defense To Corruption Allegations

Trump co-defendant Michael Roman’s attorney poked holes Friday in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ defense to corruption allegations leveled against her.

Willis admitted Friday that she was involved in a relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who she appointed to work on the case against former President Donald Trump, though she denied she benefited financially and suggested the judge reject Roman’s motion to disqualify her without a hearing. Co-defendant Michael Roman responded by posing various questions that will be raised during cross examination, suggesting witness’ testimony would contradict Willis’ assertions during a hearing.

“Let us be clear: if Mr. Roman had not uncovered the now-admitted personal relationship between Willis and Wade, no one may have ever known about it,” the filing states. “That raises the obvious and important question: If they had nothing to hide in the first place because they did nothing wrong, then why did they intentionally not tell anyone about it until they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar?”

It's Not a Date: Trump's DC Trial Removed From March 4 Docket

In a not-terribly-surprising move, D.C. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan has now formally vacated the March 4, 2024, trial setting in the federal criminal case brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith against former president Donald Trump regarding alleged 2020 election interference.

A federal judge in Washington formally postponed Donald Trump’s March trial on charges of plotting to overturn the 2020 election as a key legal appeal from the former president continues to work its way through the courts.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan on Friday vacated the March 4 trial date in the case brought by Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith but did not immediately set a new date. The move creates an opening for a separate case in New York, charging Trump in connection with hush money payments to a porn actor, to proceed first.

The postponement comes as a federal appeals court has yet to resolve a pending appeal from Trump arguing that he is immune from prosecution for actions he took in the White House. It is not clear when the three-judge panel might rule, but a ruling in favor of prosecutors that permits the case to move forward is expected to be appealed by the Trump team, likely resulting in additional delays.

House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan has now subpoenaed Fulton County DA Fani Willis.

His letter accompanying the subpoena notes they have asked Willis for documents in the past related to the use of federal grant funds on three separate occasions in August, September, and December of last year, but she has not complied with their requests.

The letter references allegations about a whistleblower report alleging misuse of federal grant funds for "frivolous, unrelated expenses" including allegedly using it for "Mac books...swag...travel" and that Willis thereafter allegedly terminated the whistleblower.

Because of President Joe Biden's sagging poll numbers and the dour direction the nation is heading, plus worries over what many are calling cognitive decline, there is speculation Democrats might replace him at the top of the ticket for this year's election.

But Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, told Newsmax on Wednesday even though he belives Biden will stay in the race, it will not matter.

"I've heard the speculation on replacing [Biden] with [California Gov.] Gavin Newsom or whoever, and they'll do it sometime around the convention or something," Jordan told "The Chris Salcedo Show." "That may happen, but I don't think it matters because whether it's Joe Biden at the helm or some other Democrat, the left's policies are bad for the country."

Jordan, who is helping to lead the House impeachment inquiry into allegations of influence peddling and alleged corruption involving Biden and members of his family, said Americans have enough common sense to choose the right direction to take in November.

China’s military could launch an attack against Taiwan before 2027, the date Beijing has ordered the People’s Liberation Army to be ready for a takeover, the nominee to head the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command told a Senate hearing Thursday.

Adm. Samuel J. Paparo, currently Pacific Fleet commander, was also pressed at his confirmation hearing to meet a legal requirement for the command to set up a joint task force in the Pacific. Lawmakers say a multiservice and multination military unit is needed to better prepare the U.S. military for a conflict with China.

Adm. Paparo told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the Chinese military threat is increasing.

“The trajectory of the PLA, the People’s Liberation Army, across all of its services, and its activity and its aggression, that itself is the greatest challenge,” he said.

Radical Leftists gathered outside the Heritage Foundation to demand a stop to "Project 2025"— the conservative non-profit's plan for how they want a future Republican president to run the country.

Earlier this week, progressive rally-goers staged a protest, intimidating and threatening conservatives who want former President Trump back in office. Their focus is to demolish conservatives who plan to destroy the Left's radical agenda that has made the United States unrecognizable.

Activists held signs that read, "Heritage Foundation is toxic to the nation" and "Stop The Coup 2025." They also hung signs and crime scene tape around the building.

My colleague Becky Noble wrote a VIP piece earlier about a PBS documentary being done about how the Jan. 6 Committee hearings were packaged like a show to portray a narrative for the American people -- the narrative the Democrat-controlled Committee wanted to sell.

But as we previously reported, the Committee engaged James Goldston -- former president of ABC News and a documentary storyteller who ran "Good Morning America" and "Nightline" -- to help sell that narrative.

Now the documentary is confirming exactly that, with shameless comments from Adam Kinzinger about why they brought in Goldston. Goldston also explains what happened, that he got a call out of the blue that they wanted a "storyteller." "While they were brilliant lawyers, storytelling for a mass audience is not what they do," Goldston said. "Storytelling" is one way of putting it. It was Goldston who viewed it like a "miniseries" with episodes/hearings, each with a different theme.

"It was a real question of, is this going to work or not," he said. If what you are doing is a hearing into the truth, you concentrate on the truth, not whether you can manipulate the public with a slick production.

"We knew how high the stakes were," Goldston said. "We were either going to make people realize that this was important or once you've lost them you've lost them for good."

But the funny thing about that first day, as I wrote, is that they were already scaling back expectations about what they were going to present. They admitted they wanted to tie it together in a "comprehensive narrative." I wrote on that first day how former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) (I love saying "former" about her) read a tweet from former President Donald Trump on Jan. 6 but then left out the part where he said, "Go home with love and in peace."

According to three Republican chairmen leading the House impeachment inquiring into President Joe Biden, the White House and National Archives are refusing to turn over drafts of a 2015 speech given by then Vice President Joe Biden in Ukraine. The remarks were delivered in the same time period Hunter Biden served on the board of Burisma, where he was paid at least $60,000 per month by the corrupt firm, and while the company was under investigation by a prosecutor Vice President Biden demanded be fired.

“For more than five months the White House has declined to authorize the production of these draft speeches to the Oversight Committee or to assert a valid privilege over them. Such a lengthy delay in processing a discrete and limited category of documents is unacceptable and appears to represent an attempt to obstruct the Committees’ legitimate investigation. These dilatory tactics must cease, and the White House must permit NARA to release these documents forthwith," House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith wrote in a letter to White House Counsel Edward Siskel. "If the White House does not permit the production of these documents, the Oversight Committee will consider the use of compulsory process to require the White House’s production of the speeches."

Across the globe, hostile nations like Russia are using migration as a weapon of war. War is being waged with migrants, instead of tanks, to destabilize and even bankrupt a country and facilitate terrorists attacks from within.

Migration is being used to attack Finland, Italy, France, Poland and — no surprise — America. But the Biden administration is asleep at the switch, oblivious to the threat.

Though most of the migrants crossing the U.S. southern border are in search of economic opportunity, some are used as tools by our enemies.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is rightly sounding the alarm about what he calls an "invasion."

So are 10 top-ranking former FBI executives who sent a warning letter to Congress on Jan. 17 about a "new and unfamiliar" type of warfare. Heed their words.

The letter points to the danger of a large number of military-age men "who could begin attacking gatherings of unarmed citizens," duplicating the horrors of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack.

The letter also warns that some of the migrants are on the terror watchlist or are from countries designated as state sponsors of terrorism.

Joe Biden and the Democrats have to make a move.

He's losing badly in all of the swing states and even trailing in the national popular vote.

The Democratic Party has got to do something.

I see four options:

1.) There could be irregularities.
2.) They could insert Michelle Obama as a candidate at the last minute.
3.) They could incite a national panic about the COVID X strain of the virus.
4.) They could mount the equivalent of an Orange Revolution of mass street demonstrations to stop Trump from taking office.

The one thing they won't do is go quietly in defeat within the current ground rules of our democracy.
