Cambridge University Press to Restore Hundreds of Articles on Chinese Website

Articles were blocked at Beijing’s request, prompting criticism from academics

BEIJING—Following a global backlash, the publishing house of Cambridge University plans to republish hundreds of articles on its Chinese site that it had previously blocked at the behest of Beijing.

The decision came after academics had reacted with outrage that one of the world’s oldest publishing houses would bow to the demands of Beijing censors.
