Australia, Indonesia hold talks on US policies on immigration and South China Sea

The Trump administration’s hawkish new policies on the South China Sea and immigration have featured in security discussions between Australia and Indonesia, with the two neighbours yesterday calling for continued constructive US engagement in the region.
Lawyer General George Brandis said yesterday both issues were discussed during yesterday’s Australian Indonesia Council on Law and Security meeting in Jakarta, which also focused on more traditional concerns of counter-terrorism, returned foreign terrorist fighters and cyber security.
