Hillary Clinton Must Answer Questions in Lawsuit Over Emails, Judge Says

WASHINGTON—A federal judge ordered Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to submit written testimony to questions from a conservative legal group in response to a lawsuit over email records from her time at the State Department.
In a Friday order, U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan concluded the group Judicial Watch could submit questions to Mrs. Clinton about her reasons for setting up and using a personal email server for government business.
Judge Sullivan denied the group’s request to question Mrs. Clinton in person and under oath, ruling that the group didn’t demonstrate that was necessary, sparing the Democratic presidential candidate a potentially embarrassing deposition just as the fall presidential campaign gears up.
