Insider says North Korean leader has gout

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un is believed to be suffering from gout, South Korean media have quoted an informed source saying.
Yonhap news agency said recent video footage showed the leader, who is in his early 30s, walking with a limp, and noted that he missed a public appearance at the country's parliament in the week.
"Kim Jong-un is suffering from gout, which is why he is limping on both legs," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
"I understand that he is suffering from gout, along with hyperuricemia (a high level of uric acid in the blood), hyperlipidemia (elevated concentrations of lipids), obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure."
North Korean state media confirmed on Friday that the nation's leader was unwell, but did not specify his ailment.
The Yonhap report said Kim's health was believed to have deteriorated due to his frequent drinking and overeating.
The source also noted that gout runs in his family.
The North Korean leader's grandfather, father and elder brother all reportedly suffered from the illness, the report said.
Gout is often caused by obesity, a high calorie diet, drinking and a lack of exercise. Genetic factors also play a big role.
Kim took power following the death of his father Kim Jong-Il in December 2011.
