With every passing day, the evidence that President Bashar al-Assad’s security forces are guilty of crimes against humanity in Syria becomes more mountainous. The United Nations has documented unspeakable atrocities, including the torture and murder of children, while the dictator’s blithe denials of any sense of responsibility cover him in still greater shame.
There is only one proper response: Mr Assad should be held answerable for his behaviour before the International Criminal Court. Syria has not signed the Rome Statute, which established the ICC, but the Security Council has the power to order the court’s chief prosecutor to investigate the bloodshed in the country. Britain should press for exactly this outcome, just as we were in the vanguard when it came to referring Libya to the ICC earlier this year.
If the purpose of international justice is to remove any sense of impunity for the worst of all crimes, then Mr Assad long ago crossed the threshold for action. The prima facie case against him would begin with chapter two of the Syrian constitution, which makes him commander-in-chief of the armed forces and thus, by extension, responsible for the actions of those fighting to preserve his rule.
Russia and China have played their familiar role as protectors-in-chief to the world’s dictators by preventing the Security Council from acting against Mr Assad so far. Any bid to refer Syria to the ICC could founder on their vetos. None the less, it would still be worth making the attempt. The Russians and Chinese would be forced to choose whether they really are willing to spend diplomatic capital on defending Mr Assad – and Syria’s people would know that some countries, at least, are determined to hold accountable those responsible for their torment.

Cầm quyền độc tài như Assad, đã biểu lộ sự tàn bạo qua sự tàn sát, GIẾT không nương tay những người dân đã đứng lên chống lại sự độc tài của hắn .
Giữa thế kỷ 21 này những kẻ hiếu sát bạo tàn đâu lại có thể tiếp tục cầm quyền chà đạp người dân khi tay của những tên cầm quyền này đã nhúng vào MÁU người dân, đã làm TỘI ÁC ?
Nhừng kẻ gây ra TỘI ÁC, làm TỘI ÁC, GIẾT NGƯỜI thiển nghĩ không có lý do gì để thế giới dung dưỡng, bao che .
Gây TỘI ÁC, làm TỘI ÁC, GIẾT NGƯỜI, PHẢI được xét xử công bằng, PHẢI ĐỀN TỘI.
Thật xấu hổ và nhục nhã cho những kẻ "cầm quyền trị dân" như Assad, đã GIẾT DÂN thậm chí GIẾT cả trẻ thơ, rồi lại không dám nhận, chối lẻo lẻo thật đáng phỉ nhổ, khinh bỉ.
Càng đáng phỉ nhổ và khinh bỉ hơn là 2 "cường quốc" (?) nga tàu đã và đang bao che cho tên độc tài Assad này.
Còn nữa, bè lũ phản quốc CƯỚP NƯỚC DIỆT CHỦNG BÁN NƯỚC đảng Việt gian cộng sản VN không những đã GIẾT hàng triệu dân VN, đã phạm hàng vạn lần hơn những TỘI ÁC mà những tên cầm quyền độc tài trên thế giới, gần đây nhất là Ben Ali của Tunisia, Hosni Mubarak của Egypt, Gadhafi của Libya, và cả độc tài Assad của Syria hiện thời, lũ súc sinh cộng sản VN còn làm một TỘI ÁC mà không tên cầm quyền độc tài nào dám làm , đó là TỘI ÁC BÁN NƯỚC có văn tự.
Lũ súc sinh cộng sản VN đê tiện, tàn bạo, bẩn thỉu MẤT DẠY VÔ LỌAI như thế mà chúng vẫn an nhiên ngồi trên đầu người dân VN, vẫn được thế giới "bằt tay hợp tác" vì quyền lợi của họ, không đáng nói, nhưng con dân nước Việt chẳng lẽ mãi cúi đầu chịu NHỤC để cho bè lũ đảng phỉ cộng sản VN buôn nòi bán giống phản quốc BÁN NƯỚC rước giặc về thờ tiếp tục ngồi trên đầu, tiếp tục BÁN NƯỚC GIẾT DÂN, HỦY DIỆT nòi giống ???
