Savage to Newsmax: Deport Mamdani Under 1954 Communism Law

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani could be deported under a Cold War-era law because of his political ideology, radio host and author Michael Savage said Sunday on Newsmax.

Speaking on Newsmax's "Sunday Agenda," Savage pointed to the Communist Control Act of 1954, arguing the law provides grounds to remove Mamdani from the United States.

"Mamdani can be deported under the Communist Control Act of 1954," Savage said. "That law is still on the books from the Eisenhower era, when this country was riddled with communists."

Savage made the comments while criticizing Mamdani's proposal to establish five city-owned grocery stores in New York City, calling it another step toward implementing communist policies.

"He's acting like the Greek mythological figure Icarus," Savage said. "Icarus was a young man who thought he was great and could fly to the sun. He collected bird feathers and put wax on the feathers and made wooden wings. He started flying to the sun. The closer he got to the sun, the hotter the air got. Eventually, the wax melted, the feathers fell off his fake wings, and he crashed to Earth. That's Icarus. Let us pray that Mamdani's wax will melt, and he will eventually fall to Earth."

Savage said Mamdani's policies mirror principles outlined in Karl Marx's "Communist Manifesto."

"He is enacting one step after another of the Communist Manifesto," Savage said.
