Two Australians dead in the Sri Lankan terror attacks
A van parked near one of the Sri Lankan churches hit in Easter Sunday’s deadly wave of terror bombings has exploded.
Police went to inspect the van on Monday after people reported it had been parked near St. Anthony’s Shrine in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo since Sunday, according to the Associated Press.
They discovered three bombs that they tried to defuse. Instead, the bombs detonated, sending pedestrians fleeing in panic. No injuries were reported.
It came hours after the two Australians killed in the Easter Sunday bombings were identified as a mother and her 10-year-old daughter.
