Powerhouse storm to blast California, catastrophic floods possible

Record flooding is possible this weekend across drought-plagued California due to a powerhouse storm that's forecast to slam into the state, potentially bringing the worst flooding there in decades.
"Widespread and potentially heavy rain is expected for much of central and northern California, with heavy snow in the mountains," the National Weather Service said. Flood and flash flood watches have been posted for parts of northern and central California
Much more than usual rain will pelt the state: The amount of rain that's predicted to fall in California this weekend can be expected once every 10 to 25 years, the weather service said.
