President Obama arrives in Bali, Indonesia

President Obama arrived in Bali, Indonesia on Thursday evening local time (5:24 a.m. in Washington) after wrapping up a two-day visit to Australia with a pep-rally-style appearance before a crowd of Aussie soldiers.
Obama, who began his Asia Pacific trip by hosting the APEC summit in Hawaii, then went to Australia to announce a new U.S.-Australian military partnership, will attend a summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations while in Indonesia. He was greeted in Bali by the following dignitaries:
— Scot Marciel, U.S. ambassador to Indonesia
— David Carden, U.S. representative to ASEAN, and his wife, Rebecca Riley
— Col. Russell N. Bailey, defense attache
— Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Indonesian defense minister
— Inspector General Totoy Herawan Indra, Bali police chief
— Lieutenant Col. JumartoNgurah, commander of Rai Air Force Base
— Dino Patti Djalal Ambassador Ahmad Rusdi, Indonesian ambassador to the United States.

Obama, thousands of journalists set to arrive in Bali

US President Barack Obama is scheduled to arrive in Bali on Thursday night to join the ASEAN Summit, accompanied by hundreds of journalists from the US.
“We are expecting 145 US journalists to come along with the Obama team. There will be around 2,000 journalists from around the world covering this Summit,” Communication and Information Technology Minister Tifatul Sembiring said at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on Thursday.
He added that the journalists comprised 1,958 foreign journalists from 280 media outlets and 70 local journalists, and that the Bali ASEAN Summit media center was the biggest media center ever in Indonesia, Antara news agency reported.
