A group of fifteen delegates from Egypt, Libya and Tunisia are paying a visit to Poland with a view to observing the upcoming parliamentary election. While in Poland, the visitors are to get acquainted with the Polish election system and the organization of a transparent, fair and democratic election.

Heads and members of electoral bodies and social activists from Egypt, Libya and Tunisia involved in establishing a democratically functioning state are to take part in the study visit, which is organized by Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Electoral Commission. Poland has been helping Egypt, Libya and Tunisia since the outbreak of the democratic revolutions in the countries of North Africa at the beginning of the year.
Between 7 and 10 October the delegates will meet for talks co-originators of the Polish electoral system, members of the National Electoral Commission and representatives of the judicial bodies investigating electoral protests. On the election day, the delegations from Egypt, Libya and Tunisia are to visit electoral commissions in Warsaw, Płock and Radom in order to follow the election process and the counting of ballots. The visitors will also be acquainted with the Information Technology that is applied in Poland to ensure an efficient and transparent transfer of electoral data.
Tunisia and Egypt are presently getting prepared for the first democratic elections, due on 23 October in Tunisia, and at the end of November in Egypt. Libya is facing a similar challenge.
