Sen. Rick Scott to Newsmax: GOP Must Vote to Stop Socialism

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., told Newsmax on Tuesday that Republicans need to get out and vote if they want to prevent the spread of socialism in the United States.
Scott has repeatedly put forward plans to cut the national debt and balance the budget. On "Ed Henry The Big Take," he expressed concern that electing socialists in the Nov. 3 midterm elections would stand in the way of those goals.
"It's scary," Scott said. "You look at what's gone on in Cuba and Venezuela, where socialists get control, and they just destroy the country. There's no jobs."
"Take Havana, a socialist's paradise," Scott added. "There's no electricity, there's no oil.
"There hasn't been new cars in decades. People are still riding horses. They're fleeing as fast as they can."
"In Venezuela, people had to flee the country for their kids' safety, for medicine, for food, all these things," Scott continued. "I tell people, you can vote your way into socialism. It will destroy your country, and you're going to have to have guns to get out of it."
