Fauci’s fall: ‘The science’ pleads the Fifth

Anthony Fauci refused to answer what color tie he was wearing in a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing on Wednesday. He also refused to answer what day of the week it was. This is not a joke. Over 100 times, the COVID-19 lockdown mastermind pleaded the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering questions ranging from the color of the carpet to National Institutes of Health funding of Chinese research.
Over and over, during the pandemic, we were told to “trust the science.” And Fauci declared to the world, “I am the science.” How are we supposed to trust a man who, despite already being pardoned by former President Joe Biden, would not answer a single question about his alleged corruption and unscientific policies?
Institutional trust sank to an all-time low after the pandemic, thanks in large part to Fauci. With the opportunity to restore some of that trust, he chose the shadiest possible route and vindicated his critics, such as Rep. Josh Hawley (R-MO), who says “silence is admission.”
