Email discussions of the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal that were sent between Hillary Clinton and her top aides at the State Department could be concealed until after the presidential election.
In response to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by the International Business Times, the State Department initially said it would produce the TPP-related records by April.
But the agency said in a letter sent last week that it would be unable to complete its preparation of the documents until Nov. 31, weeks after the election.
The International Business Times said its FOIA request, which was filed in July 2015, was "designed to provide a comprehensive view of how involved Clinton and her top aides were in shaping the trade agreement."
