Out-of-control cruise ship crashes into boat, wharf at Venice
Two Australians, along with two other tourists, were injured trying to escape a massive cruise liner that careened straight into a wharf in Venice.

Tourists have been filmed running along a wharf seconds before an out-of-control cruise ship crashed into it.
Four female tourists — an American, a New Zealander and two Australians between the ages of 67 and 72 — were injured falling or trying to run away when the cruise ship rammed into tourist boat the River Countess in Venice’s Giudecca Canal, medical authorities told the Associated Press.
The footage, from the San Basilio cruise terminal in Venice, was captured about 8.30am Sunday local time, Italian media reported.
It showed the MSC Opera’s air horn sounding as it careened into the wharf, collecting a local tourist boat in the process.
The MSC Opera scraped along the dockside, its engine blaring, before knocking into the Michelangelo tourist boat.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's 'bizarre' briefing on the Russia probe proves how deeply passionate the anti-Trump establishment is, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says.
Now-former Special Counsel Robert Mueller is trying to have it both ways.
When Mueller told reporters Wednesday that “if we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that,” he overstepped his bounds as a prosecutor.
Mueller was insinuating that President Trump has not been exonerated of wrongdoing, while refusing to explicitly declare the president guilty of any crime.

As Alan Dershowitz noted in The Hill, FBI Director James Comey was “universally criticized” for attempting a similar political dance during the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
At the time, Comey had said that there was no clear evidence that Clinton intended to break the law, but there was evidence that she was “extremely careless” in her handling of classified information (which can be ruled a crime) while she was secretary of state.
After a nearly two-year investigation consisting of 15 lawyers, many millions of taxpayer dollars, and interviews of more than 500 witnesses, everything in Mueller’s 448-page report leads to the conclusion that President Trump is not guilty of any crimes.

While the predictable news conference with Special Counsel Robert Mueller made headlines this week for repeating what we already knew, a bigger story from the Department of Justice broke that got far too little attention.
In a Wednesday report released by the Inspector General for the Department of Justice, we learned that the OIG was able to identify a former deputy assistant director at the FBI who violated the law by leaking sealed court documents to the media, engaging in repeated unauthorized contacts with journalists, and accepting a gift from the media.
BARR SAYS DOJ HAS 'MULTIPLE LEAK' PROBES UNDERWAY
We already knew leaking and unauthorized media contacts were a cultural and systemic problem at the FBI. A June 2018 OIG Report revealed the extent of the practice and provided a graphic illustration:
Although FBI policy strictly limits the employees who are authorized to speak to the media, we found that this policy appeared to be widely ignored during the period we reviewed. We identified numerous FBI employees, at all levels of the organization and with no official reason to be in contact with the media, who were nevertheless in frequent contact with reporters. The large number of FBI employees who were in contact with journalists during this time period impacted our ability to identify the sources of leaks.

Since Special Counsel Robert Mueller was appointed two years ago to investigate the 2016 presidential election, Democrat and Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz has given him the benefit of the doubt. That all ended earlier this week when Mueller made a bizarre statement from the Department of Justice and resigned from his position.
"Until today, I have defended Mueller against the accusations that he is a partisan. I did not believe that he personally favored either the Democrats or the Republicans, or had a point of view on whether President Trump should be impeached. But I have now changed my mind. By putting his thumb, indeed his elbow, on the scale of justice in favor of impeachment based on obstruction of justice, Mueller has revealed his partisan bias. He also has distorted the critical role of a prosecutor in our justice system," Dershowitz wrote in an op-ed for The Hill.
Last night during an interview on Fox News, Dershowitz argued the Special Counsel process should be eliminated.

Mueller should have just kept his mouth shut

In his news conference Wednesday, special counsel Robert Mueller explained why he wouldn’t testify before Congress. “Any testimony from this office would not go beyond our report,” he said, adding: “The report is my testimony.” This is precisely why Mueller shouldn’t have held a news conference.
President Trump’s critics are now picking apart his statement. Like with a verbal Rorschach test, they are reading between the lines to find what they want to find.
For example, in his report Mueller definitively declared his investigation “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government.” But in his news conference, Mueller said that “there was insufficient evidence to charge a broader conspiracy.”

Plus, the Mueller investigation wasn’t obstructed. He was allowed to complete his work, with unprecedented cooperation from Trump. And Mueller’s report concluded that Trump was telling the truth all along: He did not conspire with Russia in its assault on our democracy.
In his statement, Mueller noted that the Russians he indicted are “presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.” Apparently, for congressional Democrats, that presumption of innocence doesn’t extend to Trump.
All Mueller’s news conference did is muddy the waters. Any congressional testimony would do so 10 times over. He should have heeded his own advice, left the building quietly, and, as he put it in his statement, let “the office’s written work speak for itself.”
