Trump said the rigged 2020 election forced him to make a White House comeback

Former President Donald Trump said he would not be running for president again if he knew he truly lost the 2020 election to President Biden.
“It was a rigged election. You have to tell [Vice President] Kamala Harris, that’s why I’m doing it again. If I thought I lost, I wouldn’t be doing this again. You know where I’d be? Right down on the beaches of Monte Carlo, baby, or someplace having a nice life,” Mr. Trump said while at his rally in Saginaw, Michigan.
Ms. Harris and her Democrats have made Mr. Trump’s allegations about the 2020 election a top campaign theme, saying it shows his undemocratic nature.
The former president has not budged from his assertions that the 2020 election was rigged and stolen from him.
Mr. Trump’s remarks at the rally came a day after Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith released a massive legal filing that retooled the case accusing Mr. Trump of election interference and fraud in challenging the 2020 election results.
Earlier Thursday, Mr. Trump said it is the Biden-Harris Justice Department that is tampering with the upcoming Nov. 5 election.
