National Cabinet meets again this morning after an astonishing 24-hour period in which Australia added just 13 new cases of the coronavirus.
In another encouraging sign, about two-thirds of the 6629 confirmed cases across the country – 4268 people, to be exact – have recovered from the virus. Just 2284 are still considered active cases. That is a dramatic fall from April 4, less than three weeks ago, when active cases peaked at 4935.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has said National Cabinet will consider the “prerequisites” for beginning to ease virus-related restrictions.
