Huawei Finance Chief Won’t Be a Flight Risk, Her Lawyer Says

VANCOUVER, British Columbia—A bail hearing for Huawei Technologies Co. finance chief Meng Wanzhou got under way here Monday as the executive’s lawyer argued she won’t be a flight risk while awaiting a separate decision on her extradition to the U.S.
Ms. Meng returned to the Canadian court after spending more than a week in detention following her arrest at the request of U.S. authorities. They allege she lied to banks about Huawei’s ties to a company that did business in Iran, in violation of U.S. sanctions.
