How three scholars gulled academic journals to publish hoax papers on ‘grievance studies.’

The existence of a monthly journal focused on “feminist geography” is a sign of something gone awry in academia. The journal in question—Gender, Place & Culture—published a paper online in May whose author claimed to have spent a year observing canine sexual misconduct in Portland, Ore., parks.

BREAKING: Capitol Police Just Arrested a Democratic Congressional Staffer in the Doxxing of GOP Senators

Capitol Police on Wednesday evening arrested a Democratic congressional staffer who allegedly doxxed a handful of Republican senators and then posted their personal information online.
Jackson Cosko, 27, was charged with making public restricted personal information, witness tampering, threats in interstate communication, unauthorized access of a government computer, identity theft, second-degree burglary and unlawful entry, although additional charges could be added.
Cosko most recently worked for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) but has also been a staffer with Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and former Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Fox News reported.
The charges come after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's home addresses in Kentucky and Washington, D.C. were added to his public Wikipedia page.
Last week, Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Mike Lee (R-UT) had their home addresses, home phone numbers, cell phone numbers and email addresses added to their public Wikipedia pages. The postings came as the Senate Judiciary Committee questioned Kavanaugh over Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault allegations. All three Republican appear to believe Kavanaugh to be innocent.
The IP address was connected to the Capitol, Roll Call reported.

Utah man taken into custody in connection to suspicious envelopes sent to Pentagon, Trump

A former Navy sailor in Utah has been take into custody by the FBI in connection to several suspicious packages to the Pentagon, the White House, and Sen. Ted Cruz's office, which were feared to have contained ricin.
The suspect, identified by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Utah as William Clyde Allen, 39, was taken into custody Wednesday in Logan, Utah, according to the Herald Journal.
Investigators told Fox News that one of the envelopes addressed to either Defense Secretary Jim Mattis or the Navy's top officer, Adm. John Richardson, had a return address that raised suspicions that a former sailor had sent it.
Two suspicious envelopes were mailed to the Pentagon this week that contained a substance suspected to be ricin.
Pentagon spokesperson Dana White told reporters in a statement Wednesday that a preliminary analysis shows "the substance was castor seeds, from which ricin is derived." He added, "The FBI is still investigating."

Are Democrats laying a perjury trap for Judge Kavanaugh?
On 'Fox News @ Night,' Fox News contributor and legal expert Jonathan Turley discusses Democrats' impeachment threats if Kavanaugh makes it on the Supreme Court.
Reader Jamie Gelfand asks the right question about the Brett Kavanaugh disgrace, writing: “If Christine Blasey Ford held a news conference tomorrow and said she made everything up and apologized for dragging Kavanagh through the mud, would even one Democrat change his vote?”
The question answers itself because the Dems keep moving the goalposts. When one line of attack fails, they come up with another. The only consistency is their determination to keep Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court.
Recall that some of the party’s initial talking-point objections described his judicial rulings as “extreme” and “out of the mainstream.”
They are neither, which is why the Dems moved on, as a last gasp, to allegations of sexual misconduct. Ford would never have been heard from if the “out of the mainstream” tag had gained traction.
And now that the sexual-misconduct allegations are proving to be riddled with holes, along comes charges that Kavanaugh is a problem drinker — or at least was in high school and college.
That’s not likely to work either, so already, we see the next line of attack taking shape. This one is that Kavanaugh got too mad and too partisan when he was falsely accused of gang rape.
No, we can’t have that in Washington, especially from Republicans. Only Democrats are allowed to fight to win.
That used to be true, in the BT era.
Before Trump. Now it’s a fair fight.

Trump administration terminates 1955 treaty with Iran after UN court ruling

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday that the White House was terminating a 1950s treaty with Iran after a United Nations court ruled the accord prevented the US from imposing sanctions that would affect humanitarian aid.
“We’re disappointed that the court failed to recognize that it has no jurisdiction to issue any order relating to these sanctions measures with the United States, which is doing its work on Iran to protect its own essential security interests,” Pompeo said during a news conference at the State Department.

First lady Melania Trump is on her first major solo trip abroad, and the first to Africa by a major White House figure since President Trump took office in January 2017.
The first lady’s trip to the continent – featuring stops in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi and Egypt – is being closely coordinated with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the main U.S. government institution tasked with administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance abroad.
Given Mrs. Trump’s deep interest in fostering youth engagement and developing young leaders – as embodied by her “Be Best” initiative – Africa is an apt destination. Her visit is an opportunity to showcase America’s support of democracy, human rights and female entrepreneurship on the continent.
Mrs. Trump has a demonstrated interest in children’s rights and development. I know this from having worked with her and with several of her colleagues at the White House on various issues.

Forget Spartacus — this nation and the Senate needs a Lindsey Graham moment.
We have witnessed the left sacrifice process, procedure and their own professionalism.
This deliberate attempt was orchestrated to derail Judge Kavanaugh. They did not use their knowledge of the process or corroborated allegations to reach their stated political goal. They went far past the norms of opposition research to raise issues that could not be corroborated or vetted by the committee.
Simply, they were not looking for the truth they were looking for anything.
The investigators for the committee, outside organizations and the press allow no stone to be unturned. When I testified in the Sotomayor hearing, someone went through my trash.

PALU, Indonesia—The stench of rotting corpses hung in the air despite a strong breeze as a dozen soldiers took delivery of another batch of body bags Tuesday and carefully placed them in a hilltop grave.
One of the soldiers said they buried 115 bodies in a mass grave Monday and so far Tuesday had buried a further 143. There were no family or friends—just the soldiers and a group of volunteers from a nearby university.
The burials have barely begun. Officials said the death toll from the earthquake and tsunami that struck Indonesia’s Sulawesi island on Friday has reached 1,234, with many more feared dead.

Speaking during a press conference Tuesday afternoon on Capitol Hill, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tripled down on his promise to hold a vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh this week.
"We'll get an FBI report soon. It will be made available to each Senator. All the Senators will be able to look at it," McConnell said. "We'll be voting this week."
