What to Think About Vance as Trump's Running Mate?

Former President Donald Trump announced J.D. Vance as his running mate on Monday, the first day of the Republican National Convention. Praising the Ohio Republican’s background—a true American dream—the GOP presidential nominee highlighted how Vance has been a champion for middle America and will continue to fight for “American Workers and Farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond…”

Commenting on Trump’s pick during the Heritage Foundation’s Policy Fest on Monday, Tucker Carlson said those paying close attention to Washington have to be “thrilled” by the choice. Why?

“Every bad person I’ve ever met in a lifetime in Washington was aligned against J.D. Vance,” he said.

Every single war-monger was “lined up over the last week to knife J.D. Vance, not on personal grounds—he’s a perfectly nice guy, he’s like one of the only members of the Senate with a happy marriage—true," Carlson said, "but because they thought he would be harder to manipulate and slightly less enthusiastic about killing people. That’s it. That he would be an impediment to their exercising power and boy they went after him in a way I’ve kind of never seen…”
