Rep. Burlison to Newsmax: Shut Down Border or We Shut Down Govt

Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Mo., a member of the House Oversight Committee, recently issued a stern warning on X, posting, "Listen, either we shut down the border and halt the influx of illegal aliens, or my colleagues and I will shut down the federal government. It's that simple. We won't continue to fund a Biden Regime that isn't enforcing the law and are facilitating the invasion of our country!"

Burlison appeared on Newsmax's "Saturday Report," discussing his post while expressing concerns about bipartisan border solutions, criticizing the inclusion of amnesty and increased funding without adequate measures to shut down illegal immigration.

The bill "is going to include a lot of amnesty. It's going to include a lot ... more money to process people that are coming here illegally and not really language that actually shuts it down," he said.
