Former President Donald Trump and former first lady Melania Trump sent their “deepest and most profound condolences” to Queen Elizabeth II following news of Prince Philip’s passing. He was 99.

“Melania and I send our deepest and most profound condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and to the entire Royal Family,” a statement from the 45th President of the United States read on Friday after Philip’s passing. “We send our most heartfelt sympathies to the British people,” the statement added. “This is an irreplaceable loss for Great Britain, and for all who hold dear our civilization. Prince Philip defined British dignity and grace.
