China’s military ‘likely training for strikes’ on US targets: Pentagon

China has been quietly training its pilots for long-range bomber missions — and the Pentagon now fears that the country is “likely” practicing for World War III.
“Over the last three years, the [People’s Liberation Army] has rapidly expanded its overwater bomber operating areas, gaining experience in critical maritime regions and likely training for strikes against US and allied targets,” the Pentagon said in a report released Thursday.
In addition, “China is developing a stealthy, long-range strategic bomber with a nuclear delivery capability that could be operational within the next 10 years.”
